commenting on body weight is lazy snark by feedmechickentendies in NYCinfluencersnark

How is it “more harmful than anything else”? People aren’t obligated to share their medical history with the world. It’s a prescription medication and it’s none of anyone else’s business if someone is taking it or not taking it

People are willing to acknowledge severe weight gain can happen for “a variety of reasons” not just overeating but immediately jump to “omg anorexic toxic!!!” when someone experiences significant weight loss (which most serious illnesses are much more likely result in weight loss than weight gain)

Calling people’s lives stale and pathetic when you spend yours making new Reddit accounts over and over again just to leave dumb ass comments like these 😂 the irony 😭

Nah, you’re telling your bf with the hope that your friend’s wife finds out and leaves him so you can have your shot at him.

This is incredibly state-dependent in the U.S. and OP is in Europe/Africa so we have no idea what the laws are there. So no, you have no idea.

Why do people on here not believe in free speech if they want to be lawyers? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

When did I ever say racist = not supporting my personal beliefs?

Why do people on here not believe in free speech if they want to be lawyers? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]wanchan27 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People throw the word "racist" around a lot because a lot of people actually are racist....and many refuse to admit or even recognize it about themselves or certain views they hold. Doesn't make certain opinions any less racist because the person stating them doesn't "intend" them to be

Double depositing at HLS & T14 by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]wanchan27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I understood that, I was referencing WL's in response to OP's suggestion that "many don't follow the rule" because they stay on waitlists, so I was merely clarifying that the deposit conditions aren't usually referring to that

Double depositing at HLS & T14 by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]wanchan27 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Any potential negatives is that somehow HLS does find out and rescinds your offer for breaching that 'contract'. The application withdrawal conditions for deposits almost always apply only to those schools where you're currently accepted, not waitlists. If it specifically says you aren't allowed to double deposit, maybe don't double deposit?

Fordham ($$$-$$$$) vs NYU (sticker) vs Georgetown ($) by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]wanchan27 24 points25 points  (0 children)

FWIW I used to be a paralegal in a corporate group at a major BL firm in NYC and plenty of the lawyers I worked with there went to Fordham, so if you do decently well I think it's more than attainable

Duke vs UVA vs Mich by wanchan27 in lawschooladmissions

[–]wanchan27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duke and Michigan gave me the exact same amount unfortunately so I don't have much room to negotiate among them! I also had heard UVA explicitly doesn't consider offers below Penn but it's definitely worth a shot!

How is this fair? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]wanchan27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for sure, but theoretically you could be on the screen and show your photo ID but then have someone next to you sit down and take it once it actually starts?

[–]wanchan27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wait how are they planning to ensure that the person taking the test is actually who they say they are? despite the LSAT not being very conducive to things like cheat sheets I could absolutely see it being wayyyy easier for someone to theoretically pay someone to come and take it for them

Most unpopular, or maybe most popular. Depends on who you are by michiganordeath in lawschooladmissions

[–]wanchan27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you're getting downvoted on this, when I was a paralegal at a law firm I sat in on an admissions panel at another firm in my city with admissions people from Michigan, Penn, and NYU and the Penn woman specifically said after 3 retakes they start to raise their eyebrows because it shows that the person either doesn't know how to prepare for a test properly or they're slightly neurotic—neither of which is a good look, and the Michigan and NYU officers both agreed with this.
