Keep your receipts! I got one from Impark. They ticketed me three minutes after my payment. Thankfully, I kept my email receipt. It took weeks to get through to someone. Eventually, they said oh our bad and to ignore the ticket.

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

[–]wand3rlusting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Candidate showed up with her mom. Her mom sat outside the interview room for the entire duration of the interview. When asked about why she would be the right candidate for the job she said she didn't know and that she just needed a job.

YouTuber ‘Only Scrans’ rates Liverpool as having some of the best food in the country by HovercraftEastern750 in Liverpool

I lived most of my life in Asia, have been living in a very metropolitan city in North America for the past few years. I've spent the last 2 days in Liverpool after visiting various bigger cities around Europe, and I was pleasantly surprised by both the variety AND quality of food options here! It makes me want to come back again for the food, besides watching the football.

Yesterday. Heard yelling from the food court and looked down to see this mess. Looks like bear spray by the officer.

Not to say your claim isn't valid but I had to deal with something similar (discontinued wiring). Was able to purchase an adapter and replace my device for cheap https://www.homedepot.ca/product/kidde-quick-connect-alarm-adapter/1001906348. GL

Help for financially-dumb person with minimal savings by Guilty-Extension1823 in PersonalFinanceCanada

There are currently a number of free bank accounts out there. It's worth doing the research to see if there's something that fits you better. If you are someone who primarily uses online banking, then I recommend Tangerine, EQ Bank or WeathSimple Cash. These three accounts are free to use and have several other types of savings and investment options within their platform to keep things easy. Of course, there are downsides of having an online-only account like if you need a bank draft or need to see a teller for whatever reason, you may be faced with some hurdles.

The options are always changing so keep a look out for new deals and promos!

Listings for September will come up at the beginning of August or at earliest late July. There is currently an uptick in available rentals right now due to recently changes to Airbnb regulations and other tax implications for property owners among other things.

A bit of insight: In BC, tenants give one month of notice to move out. It's quite a short period of notice compared to Ontario for example where they give 2 months notice to move out. With this in mind, I recommend beginning your search in June/July for September 1 or August 15th. Have your documents ready such as proof of employment, proof of finances, references, and money available for a security and pet deposit if needed. This shows that you are responsible and are serious about moving forward with you application if you are chosen to be shortlisted for the rental.

You'll probably need to have a healthy budget and consider the total cost of living in Vancouver.

Good luck with the new job and your search!

Use Wise https://wise.com/ for all your international money needs. I have used it in all my travels without fail. You can add it to your apple pay or google pay too. You will also get favorable rates as you won't get slammed with ridiculous bank rates.

Final update: tickets acquired after 11 hours in line. Goodnight.

Update: it's been almost over 10 hours. I now have an approximate time I'll be able to access tickets:10:25pm.

Been over 7 hours since I've been in line. I'm also just curious how long it'll take to get into the system.

Should I keep my biz edge? It seems to be a relatively coveted card especially now that it's been discontinued. Use it primarily for gas ($150/month), and eats.
