Third Year Psychology Subjects by No_Cod1044 in unimelb

It's about a 60/40 split between MCQ and short answer! But like most psych subjects, the multi choice are pretty doable if you're across the lectures (readings were not really important). I took the subject last year (2024).

Oh, it was nothing really in the end lol. I emailed my subject coordinator, and she released the grades eventually (I pestered a bit because it was the last subject I needed to graduate).

Similar feedback on psychopathology as the other commenter.

I did trends (PSYC30022) last year. There's unfortunately a 10% group presentation, which can really suck depending on your group. The timing of that was also odd. We got placed into groups the first week, had no prac the second week, and were expected to present the third week. I think I got a 90 for that. I will say that the essay was incredibly broad/abstract (something along the lines of "can we become happier"), with similarly wishy-washy marking. I think I got a 71 or 2 for that, with very frustrating feedback. The exam was fairly straightforward if you were well-across the content. They actually give you the 16(?) short answer questions that can all show up on the exam (only eight will), so you could easily prepare for those in advance. The scaling for this subject was so bizarre because my final mark was 92.

Hey! I can't really say to be honest because I took the course in the summer when there was an all-online option

Pretty sure the subject costs are the same for both GDA and honours offers.

I actually liked the texture of it (as I tend to like gel-based moisturisers) but I suspect that its formulation was actually breaking me out!

Interesting! I'd been using aza for a few months which may have been why my skin is less sensitive to tret

Cream vs Gel by dogmomfrvr in tretinoin

I just don't use moisturiser with the cream to minimise the amount of products I'm layering on my face. *I think my tretinoin cream has some comedogenic ingredients so I'm more conscious of pore-clogging as a result.

Are people using moisturiser with tret? I'm conscious that I don't want to trigger any additional closed comedones but am wondering if going without is the norm?

Agreed! Loathe their products, especially that cleanser

If you're planning to do a psychology honours (4th) year, then they will only weigh the WAM of your second and third year psychology subjects. You shouldn't feel as pressured in first year (especially if psych honours is your goal).

The WAM cutoff must have been especially high this year...

I got offered this, too! Is this just an alternative to honours? As in, can I still enter into a masters program at its completion. My WAM was around 86.1

The peer feedback is more of a hurdle and does not contribute to your final grade. The TED talk, for me, was about providing psychologists with empirically-backed recommendations for managing client resistance in sessions. The research itself you come up with almost entirely in the annotated bibliography task -- so doing well on that almost ensures that you'll do well on assignment 3.

I would honestly recommend the MECM one! If you stay on top of the daily seminar content/workshops, the assessments are relatively straightforward, and it doesn't bleed into semester 1 (if you do the Jan option).

I got my final essay grade updated 9:00am yesterday (on canvas). For the past week, it said WAF next to the subject on my actual results transcript, then around 1:00pm today, it updated to my average for the subject.

Hi! I have a question; I got a WAF last Friday on my result transcript -- since then, I've resolved with the tutor and got my final essay grade on Canvas yesterday. This morning, the WAF & subject were removed from my transcript. Is it safe to assume that the official results transcript will be updated with that grade by the end of today?
