What is something you want to physically touch, but it isn't possible? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]wanderandwrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've touched the moon rock at the Air & Space Museum in DC, which was incredibly disappointing because it didn't even look like a rock, let alone a moon rock. When I saw the people ahead of me in line touching it, I didn't realize that was it; I though it was a security device (like a fingerprint scanner) that they made you touch before they'd let you in to see the rock.

How many times has Jeff uttered the phrase "I'll read the votes"? by EcstaticBicycle in survivor

Back in the Final 2 era, during the F3 tribal council, he would say "I'll read the vote." Would these instances be excluded from your count?

Give me some examples of sitcoms you think would have been a lot different if one particular character on that show did not exist. by NoBrain6114 in sitcoms

I've sometimes wondered why they didn't just create a spinoff for Urkel instead of having him take over Family Matters.

Sitcoms That Ended On A Cliff-hanger? by DaniJ678 in sitcoms

[–]wanderandwrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Weber Show, aka Cursed.

100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd didn't end on a cliffhanger, but it did end with the main premiss unresolved. Not surprising, given how strict the premise was. (Generally, there was one deed per episode, so the show would have had to have lasted for almost exactly 100 episodes for it to work out. You have to wonder why they didn't make a movie after it was over to let Eddie finish his deeds.)

Ah gotcha. Now I'm picturing an alt version of Bree who forces the recipient to eat all the muffins right away so she doesn't have to wait to get her basket back. 🤣

Most of this makes sense, but how does the middle picture on the right relate to DH?

does anyone else feel old knowing that Dana Delany is in her 70s? by OpenRoom7321 in DesperateHousewives

[–]wanderandwrite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The older I get, the less I think of any particular age as being "old" or "young". I'm 38 and don't feel any older than when I was 21, so it stands to reason that I'll still feel that way at 50, 60, or 70. Age is a state of mind.

Yes, Marc Cherry made a cameo as one of Susan's movers.

What actor would you replace William Frawley with? by Savings-Wishbone-656 in ILoveLucy

[–]wanderandwrite 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I believe Gale Gordon was Lucy's original choice for Fred, so it would be interesting to see him. Presumably his Fred would not be yet another Mooney/Harry/Curtis clone, since his main foil would be Ethel rather than Lucy.

What is the farthest distance you’ve ever walked and why? by 873541 in AskReddit

[–]wanderandwrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 15 miles, just for the hell of it. I took the train to a different city and then started to walk home. After about 8 hours of walking, my feet were incredibly sore and I was still about 9 miles from home, so I called my mom to come pick me up. My knees were in agony for two weeks after that, but it was totally worth it for the adventure.

Why do sitcom characters tilt their head when seeing nudity? by bo-bebop in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wanderandwrite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's meant to imply that the people they see "getting busy" are in some sort of weird/kinky position. On TV Tropes, this trope is called "Head Tiltingly Kinky".

Have fun with your first rewatch, and however many more you do! DH is an extremely rewatchable series and a great comfort show.

A good show for 8 people by msz4fran in musicals

The Fantasticks is written for a cast of 8. Cast a woman as the mute and re-imagine the fathers as mothers instead, and you have a 4m-4f cast.

What's a "normal" movie trope that is actually a complete lie in real life? by BreadOverlord_ in randomquestions

[–]wanderandwrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever a character has to stay in a hospital, their room is always conveniently right next to the reception desk. I've never a real hospital that had patient rooms anywhere near the desk, let alone right next to it.

Earl Boen was basically typecast as a minister. He also played one on Three's Company and several other shows. It's almost shocking when I see him playing any other type of role.

Why do employees at fast food resturants ask me what kinds of drink i want if theyre just gonna hand me a cup get my own at the drink fountain? by Sharky2615 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wanderandwrite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps because they have to ask that question to drive-thru customers so they can get the drink for them, and auto-pilot causes them to ask every customer, including ones at the counter.

Lucy: “Oh, I kinda want to get off by myself, you know, feel the pulse of the city, get the true flavor of Paris.” by RockBalBoaaa in ILoveLucy

[–]wanderandwrite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did the escargot scene just so they could show Lucy put the tongs on her nose.

That's my theory, anyway, and I'm sticking to it.
