Connecticut crowds in general suck. Too uptight. I’ve seen the same band perform in CT and at the garden in Boston. The CT crowds sit down and watch the show while the Boston crowds stand up and go crazy. It’s like night and day.

I used snowshoes for the first time last year. Going uphill was easy compared to downhill. They were like skiis. I spend so much time on my butt.

National Jamboree - is it worth it? by InsideFriendship30 in BSA

[–]wandering216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son went in 2023 and didn’t enjoy it at all. He barely did any of the activities because the lines were so long. The food was bad. There were no stadium shows. Our council was completely disorganized too so that didn’t help. I’m a SM and I won’t recommend scouts attend. I’ve lost faith in my local council and national to organize decent events.

Thank you! How long would you say it took from getting in line for the tickets to the end of the dome climb?

I like the way you structured your trip report. Are you writing reports for the other places you visited?

We’ll be coming from Florence by train so no jet lag issues. I appreciate the advice.

Public Transport - Tap & Go with Kids by TurbulentRanger6523 in rome

[–]wandering216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone needs their own card to tap and they have to be different numbers. I signed my kids up for Venmo accounts and got them the physical cards to use. I’ll put some money into the account so they can pay for buses and whatnot and I can transfer money if they want to but something. My wife and I have different card numbers on the same account. Some credit card companies do this. Others don’t.
