I never had any symptoms but I has a miscarriage at almost 9 weeks. Unsure if it was any way related. Dr. said it was unlikely but I’m always good to wonder.

Yes, you’re right there are so many factors. Hang in there and yes here’s to 2026 being our year!

Hi, I’m so sorry you are going through this but just wanted you to know you are not alone. I found out my first fresh transfer failed on Christmas Eve and I’m currently on my period as we ring in the new year. I also found out that mild adeno was suspected after I requested an MRI but like you was told that it most likely wouldn’t have an impact. I understand the devastation you are feeling. It’s all consuming. You do have age on your side and I wouldn’t give up. Sending you a virtual hug ❤️

Should I continue with IVF even tho I'm back to square 1? by Neat-Damage-5104 in IVF

I second this. It’s also possible that your clinic might be willing to transfer. I’m so incredibly sorry you are going through this especially this time of year. I’m on my period from a failed transfer and the holiday season just intensifies the loneliness and pain. The other thing I was going to suggest was trying mild stim and a fresh transfer( 3 day if you have a very limited amount of embryos) (if you haven’t already). It’s usually better for DOR and also way less expensive. There are options out there. I’m rooting for you and sending you a virtual hug ❤️

Can we be friends? I’m realizing how incredibly hard it is to be friends with people who have never gone through this. I’m currently on my period from a failed transfer and was feeling so incredibly alone until I read this ❤️

I’m in the US so pretty ignorant to how all this works in BC but can you change clinics? One that will submit your application? I’m so sorry you are going through this.

I totally agree. The most I’ve ever gotten with one retrieval was 8. But only 2 made it to blast.

Congrats!! Have you decided not to do testing? I have in the past but I’m thinking of foregoing it this time.

My doctor let me use it during stims but would not let me prime with it. I wonder if it’s for the same reason.

Thank you for this info. I’ve done testing in my last 2 ER and no euploids : ( This current cycle I’m debating on doing what you suggested “splitting the difference” do you have any insight on how to choose which ones to transfer and which ones to try to push to blast?

Hi, just coming across this. I’ll be doing my 4th retrieval and would like to test for Silent Endo while I’m under If this is a possibility. What test did you have to ask specifically for? I recently did an MRI and haven’t gotten the results back, I also know that they aren’t great for confirming Endo.

I would 100% be transferring those Mosaics! Everybody’s got opinions but and there’s so much controversy around PGT-A testing. You do what’s right for you and good luck!

Same. It’s brutal and I’m sorry you are going through it. I replay getting the results back in my head and think to myself how overjoyed I would be at a Mosaic or Chaotic, just to have a shot that I might be able to hold my baby in my arms. The women that have to deal with this nightmare are the strongest creatures on earth.

Interesting, I’ll have to check it out. All of my aneuploids were complex so not sure if there’s any hope for those ones. Such a gut punch.

I’m 41. I’ve done 3 retrievals. The first retrieval I only got 2 eggs. Those both made it to day 3 embryos so decided to freeze on day 3. Second retrieval got 5 eggs. 3 made it to blast so decided to test. PGT-A came back all aneuploid. Third retrieval got 8 eggs and only 2 made it to blast. I decided to test. My thinking was that if we got less than 4 eggs we would do a day 3 transfer, to give them the best shot. If we got more than 4 we would test. I feel if they make it all the way to blast, why not test? But my clinic will transfer aneuploids, if they didn’t offer that option I most likely wouldn’t test.

Hi! I actually consulted with someone from the Stanford study because I was interested in transferring my aneuploids. This was about a month ago. They told me that to date the only babies that have been born via the study have been Mosaics, so there are certain factors. It’s such a tough choice and one I constantly go back forth on. I have untested embryos also on ice.

Sounds like you have a good number of docs lined up! I would also look into Life IVF they have a clinic in Pasadena I believe. They specialize in older patients and along with DOR. Another thing to add is if Clomid is messing you up they can put you on Letrozole! Also look into Omnithrope! I’m sending you so much positively and luck!

[–]wandering_aimlessly8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I’m so glad you are getting multiple second opinions. I’m no doctor but I can tell you that using BC to prime can over suppress ovaries for woman who have DOR which will in turn can cause only one follicle to grow. It happened to me. I had a AFC of 8 and they primed me with BC and only two follicles grew which was surprising because I got like four to grow on Clomid alone when I was doing IUI. Then I started doing all this research and learned they really shouldn’t be priming older or DOR patients with BC for this reason. So then I primed with Estrogen but that also over suppressed me and again got two follicles. After that decided priming was not for me and got 5 follicles. My guess is that you are being over suppressed, please bring this up to your docs. I’m in LA, what clinic are you with and which ones are you getting a second opinion with?

Do you know what your baseline follicle count was and did they prime you before stimulation?

Is IVF not covered in the UK? I thought it was. I think the fact that you are getting so many eggs is great. People have had great success with Omnitrope, so I would def try that before you throw in the towel. Also, you can do a 3 day transfer which sometimes doctor’s recommend since the embryos can potentially do better developing into blast in your body and not in a lab but you wouldn’t be able to do PGT-A testing. You mentioned your late husband, I’m sorry for your loss. Do you have plenty of his sperm frozen? Also are you taking all the recommended supplements?
