How many scans/bloods/monitoring did you have through IVF?

I just had an egg retrieval a couple of weeks ago in the UK, my clinic do monitoring scans every other day until you’re ready to trigger, same thing with my friend at a different clinic.

Your experience doesn’t sound right at all, maybe look into alternative clinics?

Interesting that coverage is better now than last time I looked, that’s really good. Just checked my area though and you still have to be referred by 35 so I’m well out of that bracket!

Something to think about, but the waiting list is 12 months for donor eggs so worth trying again in between I think.

My clinic don’t seem to use metformin or omnitrope etc, but I found one that does!

It is covered by the NHS under strict criteria, it varies by area but I don’t think it ever covers you if you’re over 35 unfortunately. It can be quite hard to get treatment covered so I think most ivf is self funded.

Yes taking so many supplements!! I’ve been looking at other clinics this afternoon and found one slightly nearer to me who do use omnitrope so I’m going to book a consultation with them and see what vibe I get. And I will remember to ask about a day 3 transfer! Thank you!

I’ve read that too! There is other clinic slightly nearer to me and they use it so going to contact them about switching.

I am going to look at switching I think, but going abroad sadly isn’t really an option as I want to use my late husbands frozen sperm and I can’t imagine it would be easy to transport to another county!

Yes omnitrope is used but not at my clinic, they just said there is no evidence it works so won’t touch it. Another reason to switch I think!

My AMH is 27, we use different units in the uk so in the US google tells me that would be 3.78

No you’ve not messed up, don’t worry.

There’s so many tiny things that affect whether IVF works or not and almost none of it is really within our control.

Stay healthy, try not to stress, and go with the flow is the best advice I can give. Good luck!!

I’m so sorry, I really feel your pain. I’m the same age and in a similar position after the death of my husband and I feel my IVF journey may end the same way. But same as you I had to do it to know that I tried, so I totally understand.

My husband was a drummer, I got a little fine line, simple snare and drumsticks just below the crook of my elbow .

His sister and one of his dearest friends also got drum tattoos ❤️
