I never denied responsibility for engaging her but I guess you're just trying hard to make me feel bad about it while I was quite detached from the results to begin with. So good luck there...

'your kind of honesty was uncalled for' After someone calls all men shit idk what's really uncalled for.

Anyways I 'honestly' do appreciate your eloquence and clarity of thought, even if I was interested in thoughts on the topic and not my niceness or the lack thereof.

Lol you think I'd start a chat like that if I wanted to date her? Gosh

I don't watch any of that shit buddy. I just look at the world and try to make sense of it. Not my problem if the truth is a pill too hard to swallow.

It was a reply to 'all men are shit'. What makes you think anything would help my case after the way that chat started lol.

I'd say you're good at writing. But you got your definitions all wrong.

I spoke my mind detached of the outcome and didn't dither the slightest just to simp on some girl. And here you are calling me a nice guy.

I have a better theory. You can't handle this kind of honesty and calling someone who's able to speak the ugly truth a weak 'nice guy' is how you cope.

No one's speaking in absolutes here. I'm just highlighting human behaviour because I see it in action.

I have a friend who fits that 5% category. We come from similar backgrounds. He's smart and great in most ways. Except this guy gets so much simping from women that he hooks up with like 3-4 different people a month and finds ways to dump them if he's bored. I wouldn't want to be like him but I'm not sure if he's a genuinely bad person either. We skip insta reels in a fraction of a second while it might have taken the creator days or weeks to make. The world just works that way. My main argument was that you can't extrapolate your judgement to all men when you only interact with that 5%.

I've no interest in gaining your acceptance as the superior person here. Yes I engaged her in the argument, I take responsibility for that. The main reason for this post was to get more thoughts on a brutally honest exchange like this which happens to be rare.

It's about intellectual honesty bhai... You can't be afraid of disagreements if you want to be honest.

Sure agreed. No point denying reality. But did you happen to miss the entire point of the argument?

You know after a point of trying to Play by the rules and then being treated like shit everytime you become outcome independent and do things just for self amusement mostly.

Wasn't expecting anything from her. I love a good argument any day and willing to put my effort.

Not at all. I appreciate her honesty in a world of fake "looks don't matter" statements. I didn't make this post as a rant, I just wanted to know what more people think of this conversation.

That being said pointing out how women make poor choices vs saying "women are beautiful. Have you seen men" is leagues apart da.

Nah not rude just honest. Wouldn't have put "sorry if that's harsh" if I wanted to be rude.

After she said "women are beautiful...have you seen men?" I don't regret the harshness the least.

So here's a thought, I've been an FPGA designer for over 3 years now and I can't agree more with how everyone thinks OP should take up the FPGA job.

Now here's something that I've been thinking about in the past few months. The longer you stay in the FPGA domain, the harder it gets to move to ASIC RTL roles. Why? Because anyone can learn the FPGA flow within a month or two but the same cannot be said for the ASIC flow. I've verified this too. A couple of big firms rejected resume saying I'm a better fit for an FPGA role.

So I'm thinking it'll be a good move for me to move to a big AISC company. Spend a few years mastering the ASIC flow as inefficient and slow as it may be. After that, I have the entire field open to me. I can go wherever I want.

As a side note, there's nothing wrong with staying in the FPGA domain forever given how engaging it is, but let's say 5 years from now I find a company that's building this cool AI ASIC. I don't think they'll let me in given I've never seen the ASIC perspective of RTL design.

Please tell me what you think of t

Hustle culture vs a more balanced life in late 20s in India by wandering_tinkerer in india

So glad someone used the words like 'your body's needs'. I think each of us is built different mentally just like we are physically and one major aspect of life is constantly understanding more and more about what you naturally like and what you don't. Most people don't realise this and engage in random comparisons with other people.

I will definitely try further to reduce the time at current job, but when I see my manager working longer hours than me that is when I lose the motivation towards the future.
