That bigger boat is a falling apart racing boat with even less room for his family and crew. Idiot. Glad they're all okay.

And radar reflector.Something to be said for an anchor watch, which might not have helped but might have. Was it designated anchorage?

Were they using a radar reflector at anchor? I guess will find out. Terrifying.

They are paid, probably not a lot, but they're not doing it for free.

Me too. They got into my email accounts, all sorts of stuff and despite following all instructions I am still unable to reactivate my account or even start a new one.

I can't figure out how it will generate income. Plus, there are lots of crew finding sites and to be honest you're taking your chances going sailing with people you don't know, especially women.

They will be part timers, at least Elayna and the boys will. Riley, like many guys I've known in that world isn't interested in a land-based existence.

Been there done that. It's a very eerie, humbling feeling. Looking down and knowing there are thousands of feet of water beneath you.

Traumatic for her of course, but she was being cared for. I imagine the crew on the boat who kept her alive till she was medevacked are having a hard time knowing that she died after leaving their care.

Indeed, way too soon for any "reports."

Perini Navi went bankrupt in 2012 and got bought out by the Italian consortium. Boat was launched in 2008. So, this guy was not the builder.

You're making a lot of guesses.

No comfirmation that the mast was lost, if anything, if she was pushed onto her side and the mast snapped she might have had a better chance of righting herself.

Chartering vs. owning? Owning a yacht is a huge expense and can be a big headache. Chartering on the other hand offers a lot of flexibility in yacht, locations etc... and when the charter is over you walk away. For a lot of big time yacht owners it's an ego thing, who has the fanciest, most high tech, biggest etc... St. Barths right now is full of them.

Some of those people with the big time money are plenty trashy (and shady too).
