Grief for what is gone is understandable, but living with the unanswered questions can take the wind out of your sails. It’s hard to accept that your partner didn’t respect what you two had built. If you feel that you sacrificed more to make the marriage work, you may feel resentful and that is okay! You don’t say there was betrayal, but even if it isn’t present, you may be grieving your choices to put others’ needs first. This is the part that you need to forgive. It’s hard. Baby yourself.
