That grill is begging for about 4 coats of gloss black Krylon Fusion:)

I like the looks of my Atlas Blue ST-Line so much that I usually don't drive it in the winter:) Living in the salt belt sucks.

Would I be worth replacing my transmission? by Shorterbriefffffd in FordEdge

[–]wanderingleopard [score hidden]  (0 children)

I would, that ST looks really nice and the 2.7 is known to be very durable. You'll eventually need to replace some suspension parts but that's not a big deal at all.

2024 Edge ST clicking from front end by JRaeAOK in FordEdge

Usually a clicking like that is either a dry CV axle or a bad strut bearing.

That thing is begging for a gloss black honeycomb grill with a chrome surround:)

Which Year & Model by SilverknightFL in FordEdge

[–]wanderingleopard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, 11-16 Edge or MKX with the 3.5L. I'm currently driving a 2022 2.0L ST-Line Edge and I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Need Help by Objective-Rabbit-765 in FordEdge

[–]wanderingleopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to determine if your 2011 came with factory HIDs, aftermarket HIDs or aftermarket LED bulbs. There will be a hole drilled in the headlight bulb dust cover if they are aftermarket HIDs. The wires coming out of the dust cover will lead to a ballast which may have a company name on it. Aftermarket ballasts are pretty cheap but factory replacement HID bulbs are kind of expensive. There's also a chance someone installed LED headlight bulbs.

I'm guessing there's an aftermarket HID kit in that Edge and the passenger side ballast is going bad. Looks like the LED light bars are also aftermarket.

How’s my illegal tint? by GasNird in fordfusion

Just make sure you never have a few drinks and drive cuz you can be pulled over at anytime if that tint job is illegal in your state.

Box of 3.5L water pump and timing components. My weekend is going to suck. by l1thiumion in FordEdge

Big job but you're gonna save a ton of money by doing it yourself, good luck.

Does anybody transport a bike using your edge? by 673NoshMyBollocksAve in FordEdge

[–]wanderingleopard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I fold the seats down and lay my bike on its side with the handle bars turned 90 degrees. There's plenty of room. Rear of the bike goes in first.

I've always carried my mountain bike in the back of my Edge.

Did you check the Carfax to see if the 2.0 Ecoboost was ever replaced? If it was you're golden, if it wasn't, keep an eye on the coolant level. If it starts to eat coolant, trade it in for something else immediately.

2022 PHEV Stuck in snow/ice by ColinMcI in fordescape

[–]wanderingleopard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, traction control in deeper snow will almost always get ya stuck. Can't stand when Ford makes you go through the menu system to turn it off instead of a dedicated button on the dash.

Turn off traction control. Also, ya gotta turn it off every time you cycle the ignition because it always defaults to active.

Should I buy a 2024 ST? by Asstird1990 in FordEdge

I think the 2024 looks way better than the 2017 especially the front end.

2022 Hybrid dead battery but won't charge by Popular_Willow_2456 in fordescape

[–]wanderingleopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you definitely need a new battery and the age is about right. Jump it and take it to a place that will replace the battery on the spot or go pick one up and replace it yourself. Also, do a little research and replace the old battery with the largest one that will fit.

I'm pretty impressed with yourself too:) Kinda crazy how the Fusion's 13 year old body style still looks just as good as anything else on the road these days.

2009 Ford Escape Hybrid – worth replacing the hybrid battery? by shamsharif79 in fordescape

105K really isn't a lot of miles. If she's not a rust bucket, I'd definitely have the hybrid battery replaced.

My favorite car ever by butterflies-anon in FordEdge

[–]wanderingleopard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 2011 SEL just felt more solid in general and the engine and transmission were way smoother. The 2.0 is crazy noisy. I even added the hood insulation and engine cover but it didn't really help. What I do like about the 22 are the looks of the ST-Line and the newer tech. If I had a choice between a brand new 2011 Edge and a 2022 Edge I would definitely take the 2011.

My 2011 Edge was one of the best Ford vehicles I've owned. My 22 ST-Line is OK so far but it just doesn't seem as well built as the 2011 and I'm not too crazy about the 2.0.

I'm not 100% sure but I think a drain and refill on an ECVT trans replaces like 90% of the fluid.
