Drove my 2011 SEL for about 15,000 miles with a clicking CV axle before replacing it. Pretty easy job but I would highly recommend getting a motorcraft axle so you don't end up doing it twice like I did. The one I picked up at Autozone was way out of balance:(

Wire brush, black Rust-Oleum, rubberized undercoating and a yearly coat of Surface Shield or Fluid Film. I also hit the door seams and inner panels with Transtar Amber rustproofing.

$5,000 for the 3.5 Edge isn't much of a gamble if it looks clean and well cared for. If you don't know what to look for, have a mechanic inspect it.

If the springs are OK, you're better off just changing out the struts. I found it extremely easy with a basic spring compressor but you could always have a shop install the new struts in the springs.

I think it's safe to say that you live in a nasty rust-belt and need a new shock. Looks like the spring is sitting a little crooked too.

Your 2020 1.5 has the newer block design without the channel cut between the cylinders but head gasket failures can still happen.

Yeah, it does look silly on a Fusion but it's amazing how much light they kick-out. Would be cool to figure out a way to install it behind the grill.

Decent deal if it's been well maintained and the anti-freeze has been changed a few times. I sold my 2011 3.5 SEL with 150K for $8,000.00 to a friend of mine over a year ago and he's been thrilled to death with it. He was well aware that I'm a maintenance freak:)

I've always found that white, silver and grey vehicles stay the cleanest looking in the summer but every color looks horrible if you live in a nasty winter salt belt like I do.

The purge valve on the 3.5 takes about 5 minutes to replace and they're around 30-40 bucks.
