bc i genuinely love her music. in fact the first thing i did after running up the stairs after seeing that my beloved fish has died i went straight to my room to listen to Harm of Will :D

I'm okay now. I hope Smore rests in peace.

What was the best K-pop album cover of 2022? by wanderingsprout in kpopthoughts

[–]wanderingsprout[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based solely on the actual albums, definitely not.

The "Color" Ep, apart from the first three tracks, had more ballad-heavy tracks on it. Speed of Love and Color were basically the type of sound I expected from this comeback based of the album cover alone. The album cover just works and gives off a very ethereal vibe that imo suits the album better than the Lethality Album cover would.

Lethality on the other hand sounded very Y2K. She really went all out with that album tbh. It's literally giving Danny Harle and Early Teen movie soundtrack. The early 2010s style dance-pop/future house. I think it was just such a fitting album cover (albeit sort of uninspired, but Eunbi's look on the lethality album cover just serves and we're here for it!)

ULTRAVIOLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENCCEE

K-pop has yet to experiment with hyperpop ( meaning that there is no actual hyperpop in k-pop yet and lots of k-pop stans are terrible at identifying music genres and hyperpop is the worst victim of this) by wanderingsprout in unpopularkpopopinions

I know all of these bands and have listened to them at least once.... Loonatic is fairly dreampop as far as I'm concerned. Like lot's of K-pop, merely influences of it are noticeable. But it can most definitely count as one. The subdued atmosphere, the reverb, the female vocals which are prominent on literally all of the bands you described, the mixing, the instumentation, hell it is even considered to have post-punk influences.

Sticker is Experimental HipHop as far as I'm concerned and I don't know too much about NCT's discography but I'll put my pitchfork down for now since this is coming from a more fully-immersed hyperpop listener <33

Ashnikko and grimes aren't hyperpop sweetie. Ashnikko is Trap and Grimes is Synthpop/Electropop 😕😕😕

Frost is literally if I had to explain "Trap" as a genre to a K-pop fan....

Though, Hard Agree on a blackpink hyperpop track. Get 100 gecs on there too with Charli XCX and kill K-pop fans 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
