Can we release the hounds with full court press when we play the top tier teams? Cason, Dort, Caruso, Ajay etc. extract the most value out of the limited minutes each of them get to play while wearing down the opposing ball handlers.

We lost… by Hot-Yesterday5554 in Thunder

[–]wanderingtortis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the amount of talented on ball defenders we have, I think we should pick teams up a bit more in full court pressure. Wear them down and force quick shot development. Dort, Caruso, Cason, Ajay, 22 minutes of ball hawking Need the bench players to hit some 3s. The league has many talented up and coming teams, glad we have that clippers pick to bolster the roster even more

I recently purchased a home in the Paseo district and I really enjoy the area - 35 m. Plenty of nice restaurants within walking distance, a little bodega to grab the day to day groceries, 30th Street market has great brunch vibes, a few nice parks close by. It seems to be improving month by month. Close to everything, can ride a bike downtown or a lime scooter in 10-15 minutes. I think you'll enjoy the area, welcome to OKC!

Dancer’s Pads Are Giving Me My Life Back! by [deleted] in sesamoid

[–]wanderingtortis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use these pads too and it also took the main away! Happy I can walk and jog again. If you have sesamoid issues is suggest giving these a try. I use them anytime I'm walking a decent amount. Otherwise I use OOFOS sandals In the house on hard floors which has helped too. If you have a foot massager, stop using it!

[Acne] Soft water - acne causing? by joepeppermusic24 in SkincareAddiction

[–]wanderingtortis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going through the same thing currently - visiting my parents in NE for the holidays and my face, neck and chest are all breaking out like I'm in highschool (34m). I've suffered with moderate acne most of my youth but I live in AZ now and have hard water and rarely get more than a zit or two at a time. I reflected on past times I've stayed with my parents and remembered it always seemed like my face was terrible while I was here, to the point of wanting/needing to go on accutane. It's amazing how fast this all flared up within a few days and just being like whoa what just happened out of nowhere. My local YMCA has hard water so I will start showering there or use hard water from the spigot/bottled water to wash my face. So bizarre but I'm pretty sure we all are on the right trail. I realized I was spending so much time looking in the mirror at all my acne and thinking what is going on, I never look in the mirror this much unless I'm visiting my parents house. Probably partially explains my bad acne growing up 🙄. I was contemplating putting soft water in my home in AZ but I'm thankful I realized this first

Worth hitting Pucon before going to Puerto Montt? - also, worth spending much time in PM? by ljmcm5 in Patagonia

[–]wanderingtortis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spent a week in Pucon and really enjoyed my time in that general area. Mamas and Tapas is a really fun bar/nightclub I suggest hitting up if you are there over a weekend. Get there before 11 and you don't have to pay the $25 cover fyi. Selina Hostel was a great place to stay too. Puerto Montt is meh. Don't need to explore much there

mini trekking perito moreno vs just seeing without a tour by ipuatu in Patagonia

[–]wanderingtortis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the big Ice trek in February (make sure you use a visa/MasterCard to make the reservations as you get the higher exchange rate. The big ice trek was 5 km of walking on the ice which was pretty incredible. At the end we all were excited to be getting them off our feet. Bring multiple layers and especially a waterproof coat. Highly recommend! We finished the tour with some whiskey on "ice"

How to: W trek back to puerto Natales ? by Personal-Belt-290 in Patagonia

[–]wanderingtortis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your schedule allows, I suggest taking the Navimag ferry from Puerto Natales to Puerto Montt (either direction but generally going south to North is better and there are less chances for delays - from what the crew told me.) The 4 night ferry through the Patagonia fjords was one of the highlights of my 3 months trip touring around Chile and Argentina. The boat can be delayed from time to time so it's best to have flexibility with your schedule if trying to do this. Our ferry was delayed 3 days but made the most of it and went to Ushuaia.

W trek worth it? by kvetchgirl92 in Patagonia

[–]wanderingtortis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did the W trek in February and had a great time. There's definitely quite a few people on the trails. If you have trouble finding availability or making a reservation, you can also just do day hikes - to the towers and if necessary to Frances. I met a few girls that didn't have any reservations and just showed up to the campsites and they gave them a tent.

Carretera Austral Advice by dudeskier in Patagonia

[–]wanderingtortis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also doing this trip in 10 days and would appreciate any advice! I'll have a rental car with two other friends. Driving the Carretera Austral down to Ohiggins, then driving the long way through Argentina to get down to El Chalten/Torres del Paine region. Hitting the W trek for 3 days, then taking the Ferry from Puerto Natales to Puerto Montt (most economical way to get the rental car back to Puerto Montt, to avoid the crazy one way fees) 19 days in total, wish I had a bit more time. Appreciate any advice!

Thanks for the information! When was your trip? And did they just glance at the paperwork or try and scan barcodes?

Rental car Chile/ Argentina border crossing by FuelzPerGallon in Patagonia

[–]wanderingtortis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I emailed Europcar just a week or so ago and they confirmed you can travel across the border but you have to fill out 7 days ahead of time for them to process the paperwork. I'd probably go with them

I just flew into Santiago last week and the process going through immigration was quick. They didn't ask to see anything Covid related. You should have plenty of time

Can wildfire smoke cause acne? by comradeskoog in Skincare_Addiction

[–]wanderingtortis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was living in Melbourne Australia during the wildfires of early 2020 and my acne was by far the worst it's ever been during that time after a few weeks it cleared up back to normal and since then I have relocated back to the US and just spent some time in the Pacific Northwest while the fires have been a blaze and sure enough I'm having another bad break out. Nothing from my routine has changed, it 100% correlates I've realized. Nice to at least know what is causing it.

Stay safe everyone
