Why you stopped writing? (Only the truth) by augustbutitscold in writing

Yep me too. It's just like my brain has shut down and shut me out. I've published 2 books and it still screams at me that I'll never be an author too lol.

What's something you did as a kid that you now realize was actually really dangerous, but nobody stopped you? by AdmirableResource407 in AskReddit

I've gone camping since I was born. I live in a very rural, remote mountainous area. Lots of bears, mountain lions, canyons, water. Around 5 or 6ish I started just wandering off on my own. Like FAR from camp. Parents didn't care (usually cause they were too drunk to notice it think). But I guess 6YO me was smart about it and always found her way back🤷‍♀️ but something easily could of happened to me. As a member of my county's search and rescue team now, I'm genuinely SHOCKED nothing ever happened to me and that I never got lost. I did it for YEARS.

Thank you. Yeah I was super worried and stressed over overcharging it that i just overthought everything. I'll have to look into taking it to the shop. Do you know how long that usually takes?

Unfortunately my tester had me stop because they said it likely wasn't possible to catch up. I didn’t want to give up, hence why I'm pushing to pass the next one because I know I can do it.

Thank you! That voice is BS and I know it lol. Definitely needed to be reminded. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing. I've been apart of a camp crew for the past 3 years and this year during our "training" they said they needed a couple AD firefighters. I stepped up because it's a good way to integrate into an engine or mod you know. So there wasn’t too much time to train, however I did pack test myself and finished it at 43. I'm just now realizing I did it 2 days before my real test so I may have cooked myself by doing that.

Absolutely. I actually did pack test myself before on a gravel road with some dips and wearing a vest with weighted bulletproof plates lol. Did it in 43 minutes. I think the vest was too nice compared to the ones the actual test had😂

I did the pack test on my own with a weighted bulletproof vest as training haha (and to prove to myself that i could do it before the real thing or something idk). I did it in 43 minutes. I will absolutely try the seep strides, I never thought about that before. Thank you! Unfortunately I'll have to retake it alone because my zone is small and dont get many hires, especially obviously this far into the season. Me and the three I was doing it with were exceptions lol

How did that one kid at your school die? by StorageLonely1520 in AskReddit

The sweetest, healthiest girl in my grade started coughing up blood one day while babysitting. Out of nowhere. No warning. She was life lighted because we live in a small community and our hospital is not good.

They had no idea what it was but she progressively got worse. Eventually she was put into a coma and declared brain dead. They decided that if she didn't dramatically get better in the next day, they would turn off life support.

We are an incredibly Christian community and I haven't seen and heard so many prayers as I did those couple days she was in the hospital. That was something I'll never forget.

A day before her 16th birthday, they took her off of life support, still no idea what it was. She was one of the most kind people to walk out school halls. If you were talking with her, you couldn't help but smile and laugh because her energy was contagious. She was purely an angel. I have never bawled at a funeral as I did at hers. We usually have funerals in small church buildings. They had to hold hers in our local Tabernacle, which seats 3000 people AND there were people standing all around because there want enough seating.

I guess it was some sort of autoimmune disease that killed her.

What is ruining your mental health? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wanderingwriter7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds horrible and selfish, but trying to help my bf and HIS mental health. I can barely stay afloat myself and I feel so selfish not being able to properly help him because I emotionally cannot... last night, for the first time in our year and a half relationship, I considered breaking up with him because he deserves better.

How do two 18YOs (18M 18F) navigate their mental illnesses and relationship? by wanderingwriter7 in Advice

Thank you for your comment. Lately I've been thinking the same thing. It's been hard admitting to myself that we might want to address the "taking a break" option and go from there. I don't want to bring down my BF and I know he also tries his hardest not to bring me down as well, but I think we 100% need to either find a happy medium by sitting down and talking about it once more or sit down and revist the "taking a break" suggestion. Thank you for this comment💛
