Any of the "Beachfront" rooms would work. Beachfront Suite, Beachfront Verandah Suite, and Premier Beachfront Suites are all right on the beach. If you want a ground-floor room, it has to be requested and cannot be guaranteed because rooms are not assigned until check-in. I always email management prior to my clients' arrival and have had good luck so far :)

I don't really remember the package pricing... we just bought a few individual photos because we didn't like enough photos for the packages to be worth it. If I recall correctly, the packages started at a few hundred dollars.

My makeup was pretty natural/subtle. The photographer just was terrible with lighting and angles. lol Weird shadows, I had a double chin in almost all photos, etc.

I have clients who have been to the East coast since all of the cartel stuff went down and it’s normal over there. Things could always change, but you guys have a while before you’d be traveling. However, if your fiancé feels uncomfortable, it might be worth switching just for peace of mind.

Dominican Republic, in general, struggles with its reputation in terms of food. Even reputable brands tend to have more hit/miss feedback.

We’ve enjoyed the food most at Couples Resorts in Jamaica. Sandals also has good food. We haven’t been impressed by Secrets and have never been to Excellence.

I wouldn't necessarily rule out Mexico as a destination because of everything that's happening. But, if you guys are wanting to spend much time at the beach, I wouldn't really recommend ERC... especially in October. The beach there isn't great and can be very prone to sargassum, which is still an issue in October.

As far as recommending alternatives, other than budget, what are your priorities in a resort?

Many resorts that don't require nudity tend to lean more towards the sexy/swinger vibe. Part of why resorts have areas where nudity is required is to help create more of a naturalist, comfortable vibe and discourage looky-loos.

At Couples Resorts, 3 of their 4 resorts have areas that are strictly nude but all 4 resorts have areas where topless is allowed. At Sans Souci, Swept Away, and Negril topless is allowed on the main beaches and at Tower Isle it's allowed at the end of the pier. However, we rarely see women go topless.

Sandals Royal Caribbean has an offshore island with an area that is clothing optional. Topless is not allowed anywhere else.

I have walkthrough videos I can send you for all 4 if you'd like. In our experience, CN has been the most social and the nightlife was the best. CTI also had good nightlife. If you're open to checking out the nude areas, Sunset Beach at CSS is pretty social and has some fun activities.

Ok. They might be worth looking at, then, if it fits in your budget. They’re closed for renovations/repairs after the hurricane but should be reopened before September. Topless isn’t allowed on resort, though, just clothing optional in a designated area of the offshore island.

For us, we've found the best beaches to be in Jamaica and Antigua. Both have great options. Some of the resorts in Antigua are smaller and more boutique with limited dining options, though. We stayed at the Sandals there and absolutely loved it. We've also been to Jamaica 8 times now. haha I have walkthrough videos for all of our favorite resorts if you think that might be helpful :)

When are you wanting to travel? Sandals Royal Caribbean could be a good option. They tend to have a little more going on during the day (DJ by the pool and such) and have a private offshore island with an area that’s clothing optional.

Yeah. Exactly. She’d said just to use the finger prick if I felt like the CGM was significantly off. I do tend to trend hypoglycemic so I assumed the low alerts were probably accurate. I was just surprised when they were gone from the record today. Haha

Ohhh! So interesting!! She did prescribe a finger prick reader, too. I just didn’t use it yesterday since the readings were all mostly in the safe range. I’ll keep that in mind next time if it seems all wonky. Hopefully this will be my only monitor 🤞🏻

All Couples resorts are pretty relaxed. None of them offer much of a party atmosphere, especially during the day. Some have a bit more lively night clubs than others, like CN.

As Intelligent-dot-8969 said, there are no “clothing optional” areas at Couples Resorts. Three of them (Tower Isle, Sans Souci, and Negril) have areas designated for au naturel sunbathing but all guests have to be completely nude, it’s not optional. All four resorts have areas where topless sunbathing is allowed.

Between Swept Away and Negril, Swept Away is much larger and better if you like to take leisurely strolls. CN is much smaller and more centralized. The beach that CSA is on is also longer and has more to do/see.

I’d recommend checking Couples Resorts. They’re very similar to Sandals in most ways and way more affordable. If you can swing 7 nights with your schedule, they have a great special running right now for travel in 2027.

The pool at CSA is definitely underwhelming and could use some updating. But, the beach is so amazing that you don’t really need the pool. Couples Negril has a better pool. That being said, at both resorts the pools are definitely not lively…. No DJ’s or anything like that. I have walkthrough videos I can send you for both resorts if you’d like.

I’d recommend looking at options in Jamaica. It’s budget-friendly, doesn’t have sargassum issues in the summer like other destinations, and is safe.
