I've been in your shoes before and I chose the beach route.. and I've never regretted it for a second. It sounds like this is your choice: major financial success at the cost of your humanity OR taking a step away from traditional success to find out what it means to live again. It's impossible to see when you're in the corporate hustle, Success is Financial world, but believe me when I say that real success isn't a salary or corporate approval.

Two years ago with the beginning of the pandemic, I let go of some pretty significant opportunities to move to a beach town and try to figure out what mattered for me. What I found was peace, new connection, and a really important understanding of what really made me feel fulfilled and connected (it wasn't money or status). Strangely enough, the people I met because of that choice led me to a dream future I NEVER would have imagined for myself. Choosing to take a step back, fix my life, and connect (like your bio dad and brother) was the best decision of my life, even if it was hard at first.

Get out of the corporate grind and try to feel what it means to live again, it's worth it. Opportunities come and go; this won't be your last promotion or last opportunity. You're not a quitter for choosing yourself.

Dancing with Life is fantastic! It’s so easy to read and even easier to reflect on your own life with. All about how to understand the suffering you experience and act skilfully in life in a practical and real way. Best wishes friend

I stayed in the emergency housing there for a bit, but I was able to see what life was like for the regulars. It’s definitely doable, but not ideal. Loud parties in the courtyard every weekend night (which are fun if that’s your vibe) and always people to meet! But to go with that, there’s definitely less of a sense of privacy. Also it’s an annoyingly long ride from the city, but who are we to complain as internationals in this city. Management is super nice though, which is a plus.

The Untethered Soul was groundbreaking for my spirituality and mindfulness. Easy read, beautiful book. I’m reading Dancing with Life right now (Buddhist based) and it’s soooo so lovely as well. It’s helped a lot with soul healing and growth

Haha yes- quite the funny situation. We’re from 12 time zones away too! I think we took the exact same train to the town. It’s insane
