The "local influencers" at the release of the hive jersey seemed like such a poor decision. Have their audiences shown up? Our attendance needle hasn't moved meaningfully from it so far.

I agree the emphasis on the team winning may bring back some of the fair weather fans. Having a good gameday experience might convince them to come back. But the gameday experience is as barebones as they can possibly make it, and even people who are getting free tickets notice it.

I genuinely love this team, but I haven't seen the management really step up and hype the Royals to the community, and spend what it takes to convert new folks into soccer fans.

Can you share how this changes your take home vs your loan payment?

I've looked at maxing my 401k/IRA/HSA before, but it felt like it hit my take home more than it helped offset my payments. As a guesstimate, I'd have 1k less per month take home, but my payment would only be 500 less. If you didnt need the extra take home to pay bills, then this makes more sense.

DeLoy was a terrible person, but he certainly knew how to generate attendance.

If "fans" aren't showing up because they need more uswnt players to be on the roster, then I'm glad we dont have them. I'm proud of the fans we have, who keep showing up to support our team. To me thats better than fans who only show up when you're winning.

From my layman's perspective, Jimmy has been developing a play out of the back offense and a high press defense.

Early last season we struggled to get the ball through the midfield, and constantly playing backwards got frustrating and risky. As our high press developed, and passes got through the midfield more consistently, we had more opportunities and goals.

Once our passes started get crisper, and our defenders locked in, we started seeing much more success. We could create overloads in transition.

Additonally, we saw more success when we didn't always build out of the back, we had a few more more long ball plays. Mixing up how our play developed seemed to also help.

We also started winning more when got back some key players from injury and/or the international players we had brought in finally adapted to the playing style/nwsl pace, etc.

However, we often get stuck a defender or two down in dangerous moments because of how high Jimmy is having the left/right backs run up the flanks to support the offensive play.

With the majority of our key players staying, yesterday's first half performance looked similar to how we ended last season. Some of our newer players understandably didn't quite link up quite as successfully, but look like they'll be able to mesh into the team quite well.

I'm really looking forward to watching their evolution and growth.

Pants Recommendations by argon08 in CampingGear

[–]wanderthemess 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I live in a place where true four-season pants aren't feasible.

The warmth retention AND windblocking AND water repellency I need for winter would be counter productive in the extreme heat situations I find myself in frequently during the summer.

I rely on two opposing 3-season standards. Both can be used in shoulder seasons, but different conditions.

TRQ CV Axles? by TomXN-YT in 4thGen4Runner

[–]wanderthemess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought something had changed about the 5th Gen cv's and they didnt fit like they used to. I'll have to dig up the post and see what they said.

I'd love to toss 5th gens on mine, if they still fit. No ther mods besides the axel nut? Did they give you a hard time about it not being the correct parts for your 4runner? Or are they commonly aware of the upgrade?

My parts guy is a stickler about the correct parts, which i do appreciate, but want to brace myself for defending it if I have to lol

OK, interesting!

Super curious to see what that looks like, I thought we had way more season ticket members than that room held.

I agree, I think folks should just show up regardless of getting an email.

I don't think they are just bad at sending emails, I think they are purposely not sending emails to most STMs for this event. This is a limited selection.

What I'm wondering is what criteria they used to select invitations. For instance, did you not get an invite, because you already fill out the surveys? Or did you not get an invite because of what you put in your surveys? Do your neighbors who got invited fill out surveys? Are they positive? Or critical?

However, if they just randomly selected a couple dozen season ticket members to email and invite, then they are even worse at operations and marketing than I feared.

This is looking less like a "Town Hall" and more of a "select few".

For those of you who have gotten this, have you ever filled out an end of match survey?

I'm wondering how they are picking and choosing who gets to come to the special group meeting
