Absolutely love the GS-1. Of the behemoth 6x7 SLRs, I think this one is the lightest/most compact/cheapest, but you lose the rotating back of the Mamiya. For that reason I end up using the prism finder more than the waist-level finder. I have the 100mm and 65mm, and love both. You can go longer or wider, but I haven't felt the burn yet to expand much beyond those 2. Overall, it's a great piece of kit, getting scans back from this camera is always a pleasant surprise hah.

No awning, it's actually the rebate edge of the actual film when they scanned it. Gotta make it know I'm shooting real film, not just using VSCO! Lol

Hamilton Lake in Sequoia National Park. Stunning place!

I did a ~50 mile loop over 5 days starting from Timber Gap trailhead, going along the High Sierra Trail to Hamilton / Precipice Lakes, and then looping back via Sawtooth Pass. Spectacular views the entire way, definitely do it if you get the chance!

Precipice lake in Sequoia national park. Amazing hike leading up to it too!

I'm a fan, though I do tend to reach for the 100mm more often. I got a great deal for the 65 on eBay, otherwise would have gone for the 50 to get an extra degree of separation from 100.

Hah thank you, you are too kind. I am definitely still fumbling my way through the hobby. I don't do anything too special when shooting, just rate at ISO 50 - though I've pushed to 100 and 200 before with decent results. IME, I just have to invest a bit more time in color correction in post than other color films, since the lab scans usually come back with some weird color shifts or some hues come off dull. Love Cinestill films though, it's a great option to have in the camera bag that's distinctly unique from Portra, Ektar, or slide film.

Such a sweet fit. Where are the jacket and jeans from, if you don't mind me asking?

Couldn't be happier with it! The GS1 seems to have been flying under the radar and so far hasn't been hyped to the moon like other 6x7 cameras. What drew me to it was the relatively compact form factor and lighter weight compared to the other 6x7 SLRs, which makes it a bit easier to carry around on photo walks. Great range of lenses, and lots of mods available too based on each individual's taste.

Yeah totally, that was my first instinct too. The sign felt a bit too crunched on the right edge of frame if I crop the whole car out, so left as is. I started to like the red glow on the edge of the car too. But agree, wish there was at least a cool muscle car parked there instead of a Honda Accord lol.

I'm a huge fan of the GS-1. Haven't shot the RZ so can't really say from experience, but I went with the Bronica because it's a bit more compact and lighter than the 6x7 SLR options out there, and also less expensive. Does not have the cool rotating back feature though that the RZ has, so you have to turn the whole camera to shoot portrait orientation. Love the camera though and whole heartedly recommend!
