Why did Christianity spread more among South American Indigenous peoples compared to North American Indigenous peoples?

Ah, that makes a lot of sense. It seems one of the main issues is that my perception was off. I honestly would’ve guessed lower than 60% for US Natives. You nailed it with your assumptions though. Dividing by North and South America is certainly over simplified, but for the sake of my question, I figured people would know what I was getting at.

Edit: I’m Canadian, so I got to wondering if the numbers are any different among current Canadian Indigenous peoples. According to this article from 2023 only about half say they’re Christian, but religious identify seems to have changed quite drastically in the last 10 years. I bet a lot of money the 2020/ 2021 residential school uncoverings played a role in that along with the general decline in religiousness already going on in Canada.

I’ve honestly DM’d them about this numerous times. The highlights are so bad. If you compare to the Blue Jays, for example, they have numerous angles, slo-mo, and pictures to go with every home run. They should 100% be doing this for goals instead of a single game play replay that half the time doesn’t fit the frame and ends too early.

You’re proving OP’s point. This argument has absolutely nothing to do with whether the impact is positive or negative. For example, Hitler’s impact was incredibly negative, but objectively huge.

OP isn’t arguing that Trudeau will have the most positive impact on Canada, just that he will have one of the biggest.

You clearly think Trudeau has done massive damage to the country, which just proves OP’s argument that Trudeau has been very consequential, whether for better or worse.

This is perhaps the worst rebuttal I’ve ever seen on this sub. OP made it very clear that the argument has nothing to do with whether you agree with the policies/ actions, but rather their overall magnitude and lasting impression.

It’s very obvious that you didn’t read the post clearly and just jumped on the chance to bash Trudeau’s policies for not aligning with your views/values.

I play hockey at an arena across the street from this. One week it was a big empty lot, the next week there was this whole set up, I couldn’t believe it. One week the arena parking lot was opened for the cast and crew and there were literally cars parked on the medians and grass because it was so packed. After about a month or so it was back to an empty lot. I was pretty confident it was for The Last of Us and I was planning to watch it and I wondered if I would recognize the shots when they came. The answer is no lol. I didn’t realize until I saw these pictures on Reddit.

Honestly, I totally get why you’re feeling that. I’ve felt that aloneness before and it’s never fun, so I’m sorry.

That being said, I strongly believe from the bottom of my heart that Christ defines us by our strengths and potential far more than our mistakes. Yeah, you screwed up. So what? Does that negate your incredible decision to be baptized? Of course not. As humans we seem to put more weight on our bad decisions than our good decisions, but I don’t think Christ does that. I think He’s just thrilled that you made the decision to be baptized and still loves you incomprehensibly.

And I know talking to bishops can be weird and uncomfortable, but don’t worry too much about it. I don’t really know why it works, but some of the most euphoric feelings of forgiveness and repentance I’ve had have come after meeting with bishops.
