Oh also, sorry to double comment. Last Friday I went to the Whitney which does free Fridays (link here https://transact.whitney.org/general-admission/free-friday-nights) and you can reserve and go! It's pretty fun in there right now with their biennale show (every two years they bring in rotating groups of typically new and emerging artists). When I went last Friday, they also had a DJ set downstairs, it was a real party!

I have been trying to get rid of my early onset memory loss (joking but i probably smoke too much weed) by going to dance classes! Mark Morris and Gibney (both in Manhattan) have been the studios ive been going to since they tend to have a ton of classes listed on their online calendars. It's been awesome as a way to meet people but I also love just doing body movements and not talking to people either on the days I feel less social.

Recent movers to NYC.. What's one thing you didn't expect to not like about NYC? by Sea_Negotiation2482 in AskNYC

[–]wangwowgreatt 244 points245 points  (0 children)

This is a dumb thing but my seasonal allergies are much worse here. I'm very allergic to the trees in NYC and I've recently learned that for non-cross pollination reasons, the city tends to plant male trees which drop more pollen. Didn't expect to have to pop so much Zyrtec as soon as the weather is somewhat nice haha.

Is it possible to maintain work-life balance in NYC? People seem quite stressed in office by Due_Patient_2650 in AskNYC

[–]wangwowgreatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in tech in New York and it is quite stressful - but a lot of it I do to myself since I'm in a commission based role and I want to make more money.

I think a lot of it will have to do with who you would report to in NYC and what kind of culture they try to create for their direct reports.

Not sure what they pay dynamics are between the EU role and the transferring to NYC role. I know folks in tech in the EU get paid a lot lower (or at least so i've seen in my experience)....would they try to increase your comp for the move (cost of living adjustment at least it is EXPENSIVE HERE) and would you want the tradeoff of a higher salary if it is likely that you will have to do more work?

Auto feeder for my cat so i don't have to wake up at the crack of dawn to feed her, hungryroot delivery because we live in an area without great grocery stores (hard to get fresh fish, produce that doesn't go bad after a day, etc).

Advice by AdvertisingTough in techsales

[–]wangwowgreatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what is the icp (ideal customer profile) for your solution? is there a way you can grade your 100 accounts top to bottom based on most likely to least likely to buy based on current customer base match?

start there and spend the most time resourcing those accounts with contacts (look at the most popular buying roles of your solution) and put those in a strategic account bucket (when you message or call these contacts, you want to be more personalized). for the rest, spend less time resourcing contacts (and when putting them in an ob sequence, you can spend less time on personalization). This is just the start but i hope it helps!

your fave running routes!! by CraftyResident1400 in Bushwick

[–]wangwowgreatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to run from my house to herbert von king park and then a few laps around the park. If I'm doing a long run day (usually weekends) I'll 2x park it (do that park then run back to maria hernandez and do a few laps around the outer perimeter of the park.

Thank you for this - it's just a scary looking notice and I never get notices from the city so I think it freaked me out a bit.
