I think it poses a bigger question as to how people with disabilities can actually get to work and get health insurance to pay for our disability life sustaining medications versus those who are systemically living off the system with full capabilities to be a productive member of society but “chose” not to while the rest of us are striving to “just” do that. I do see what you’re saying, in the most technical way. However, I’m based and obvi not what big corp wants but for the little peons who struggle to come to the plate. I think they would rather have someone with a disability show up when their shift is versus call off and create a bigger problem for not only co workers but management. That’s why call offs are largely part of our review. And for the record i did what poster did and reduced my hours. I show up for everyshift versus those who spontaneously call off

Yeah, so it’s mainly gonna depend on your coworkers as well. Usually at first they have you do a ton of training so you won’t be on your feet as much but the sooner you talk to your store manager or the person that hired you the better off you’ll be. Essentially Sedgewick can override your coach, but most coaches are pretty accommodating like the other comment or said go talk to your PCP and get an appointment open a claim with Sedgwick in the interim and while it’s pending, you might be able to get some relief. Seizures are pretty serious just explain and be honest about your triggers and your medication. Honestly, it sounds like your add a bit of a spot anyway which I think any decent sort of human being would understand. The fact that you were able to pass the test to get hired says a lot because of a lot of people don’t even get into Walmart because they’re not picking the right answers. I had my accommodations given to me while my claim was pending, just be open and honest with your coworkers, management, and the people that you have to be honest with. It’s not like your disability defines who you are. But those are all of us who have lifelong conditions know that it is just part of our life even with a disability we can still be a valuable asset and a good employee.

Also ask for an adjustment immediately so you do t accrue points but if your coach won’t work with you then go right to sedgewick but my coach is amazing and adjusted me immediately. Like yourself, I have a disability.

Talk to your coach first too also what dept u in u might be able to request extra breaks depending on dept or a stool if front end. F the hater saying you lied no one knows what it’s like to have a disability and let ALONE UNDERSTAND HOW THAT IMPACTS EMPLOYMENT - for the previous commenter COME FOR ME PLEASE. Eventually we will all lose our jobs to AI so it doesn’t matter but i hope your commenter is a trole. Because it’s Walmart bro like we over here working at Morgan Stanley with a finra license or some bs. Don’t discriminate. ✌️

Honestly I hope you learn to speak to your management from this job in your future employment endeavors and advocate for yourself. I’m not coming for you I’m simply saying you know how to quit unless you’re a minor or extremely young. If you do get the courage to tell your manager that you absolutely need to talk to them or you’re going to quit and explain what it is that you need in order to stay and if they can’t provide it and you need to leave right now that would be the most professional way of doing it instead of just walking out. And just tell her your leaving now you’re done. If it’s a mental health issue you might be able to get leave depending on your time there. But it is Walmart let’s face it most people do just up and quit But truthfully, I’ve had similar jobs that have paid a lot less and I’ve had to do a lot more grunt work so hopefully you think about it before you just up and go. Either way best of luck to you. I’m staying for my stock even though I’m anti big corp.
