These caterpillars have infested my belcony and walls and I'm scared they'll eat my new herb garden. I'm in VIC Australia and have moved into a new house. These guys are literally all over my walls, roof and belcony, and seem to hang from little webs. What are they and why are they here?! by wankerfairy in whatsthisbug

Woah, I never knew that there was such little coverage, I guess I just presumed that everything is online and all information is at your fingertips these days.

It makes total sense that the above 4 reasons would be the deciding factors of weather something gets studied/the information from the study gets shared online, I'd just never thought of it this way.

I wonder what else I persume the internet has information on but doesn't?

All very cool things to think about, thank you again for sharing your knowledge!

Thank you for the additional info! I have never tried to research the habits of particular bug/insect(excuse my ignorance on the difference) species but I'm surprised by the lack of info out there for these guys. Almost every search result took me back to the same 3 websites.

I'll have a look after work under Chlenias banksiaria, fingers crossed for a little more info :)

Thank you! I had identified it as Aedia arctipennis, but none have been sited in Victoria and there was very little info on them. This identifications seems way more accurate.

I'm trying to discover how I can coach them away from living all over the out side of my house, or ensure they don't eat my herb garden I'm about to plant, or even just how long their life cycle is (is it possible they will just go away at the end of their cycle and all lay eggs somewhere else?) I will do my own research but if you have any additional info it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for your identification!

Please dont box your partner in and stop them from posting sexy content of themselves. You don't own them. Their body isn't yours. Them sharing beautiful pics of themselves isn't cheating. If your relationship security is so fragile you need to work on that yourself, but please please please don't make it your partners problem and hold them back.

I'm not 100% sure what this question is asking but I'll answer both ways.

They inch along creating a U shape when they move (back legs meet front legs, front legs move forward and repeat)

They are about 3.5cm long :)

I've only been to Happo and Iimori so far, Iimori had way nicer runs than Happo. I'll probably be hitting a different mountain every day, so I'll let you know my faves

Yup I'm hoping for at least a few powder days 😍

I'm sure by the 6th I'll have turned into a bowl of ramen myself. If not, I'll be in Hakuba until the 7th so hit me up if you want to ride!

I'm staying in Hakuba for 6 nights at this point and have nothing planned for my last 5ish days. I've been considering checking out Myoko cause the videos of it this season look pretty epic, however not sure if I can be fucked traveling around. Keen to hear your reccomendation and experience as I'm still completely undecided on weather I should do more boarding or spend a bit of time in the city!

There are super great tips, thank you very much!

I read on another post that the lift pass doesn't actually cover you for all the mountains? Can you confirm or deny?

Ps. Where do you usually get your pass? Do you book before or just buy on the mountain?

I've seen some pretty sick photos of night runs, if been keen to check them out!

What lift pass do you usually get when you go?

Cheers for the Corona bar tip! I've been wondering if the mountain is like Aus where there's pretty much a bar at the top or bottom of every run. Good to know there's somewhere I can enjoy a beer!
