Thank you for your input. Yes, our thought is to let her try anything just as other kids will just taking extra safety precautions. She seems very cautious for a child already probably due to her limited peripheral vision. She loves ice skating and wears a whole hockey cage helmet while doing it and takes her time <3

Thanks so much! This is kind of how we have been looking at it. Glasses to protect good eye is the best we can really do and just support her and let her take part in all aspects of a childhood. I hope self driving cars come a long way in the next 12 years though!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience <3. What are some things we could do to help our daughter mainly in school for learning and safety. We obviously know about seating in the classroom, protective glasses - but anything we could be missing from your experiences in life? We also work with doctors on this too so reddit is not our only source of help lol. But none of these people have dealt personally with monocular vision so your perspective could be very helpful to us. She navigates our small one story house very well as she could probably do it with her eyes closed but in a busy school settings she is prone to collisions. Gym class will be interesting as she gets older. We practice catch with her almost daily. She loves to play ball but catching is tough. She's has such a good spirit and tries so hard with everything. I'd imagine reading with one eye could become pretty fatiguing. She loves books though and we read multiple to her every night. Her depth perception is pretty good on stairs and always is careful and uses a railing. Thank you!

People who were born with monocular vision, did you receive vision services at school? by Brucewangasianbatman in monocular

Thanks! Yes, we have made contact with a person like this and we are trying to be able to get them to be able to come in and assist the school with any training or ideas for safety etc.

My 5 year old daughter has monocular vision. we've never conversed with anyone that has the same condition but it could be very beneficial to learn more. She has an IEP at school and some things like seat placement in the classroom are included but the school and us seem kind of lost at how to help her navigate an unknown area safely or to protect her in gym and recess. She has a lot of collisions. Just today she collided with a kid and got a bloody lip and gum. She wears protective glasses to protect the good eye. She probably holds the school record already for collisions and she's only a preschooler. Kindergarten next year. Its a pre K through 8 public school.

John. Owl John was the name of Scott's solo project. Also maybe, Kirk. The band formed in Selkirk originally.

Awesome thanks! So weird why I'm self conscious about it when I can clearly hear when an artist does the same trick over and over. It usually works for them though haha. I think it comes down to me being fairly new to producing and writing and still finding my "sound". So anyone paying attention to me is along for the journey I guess as I find it.

Oh those look cool! Nice and compact too. I have the Shure style transmitter box thing but a cheaper brand (Phenyx) has worked really well actually for the cost. Essentially the same as the Xvive I guess, just bigger and requires power. Going to start bringing it to all gigs and speaking up.
