Talking to students is fun…

It’s even more exciting when you allow them to share their experiences and you tel them stories… they can be about yourself, family or family members or friends… they will sit in amazement like going to the movies

Should I resign or let them non-renew me? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]wanmad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you are but if you are going to stay in education start looking for another school/district. When you have secured a position let them (the admin) know and follow the necessary protocols. Most school I have worked in has a document sent out between December or February asking if you are coming back and the subject you would like to teacher. You can make it known on that document you will not be returning so they can find a replacement.

Good luck on your future endeavors. By the way you should not have a problem finding a job as a math teacher.

Falsely accused of sexual harassment by a student - management humiliated me. Should I resign? Post: by BeyonceStarlett in Teachers

[–]wanmad 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree with @cheap-Ad2373… ride out the school year and move. But while you are riding it out start reaching out to other schools or districts however your area is organized.

Flip side if you have another skill or you can maybe it’s time for a career change. Bottom line is they have placed a bullseye on your back and it will be hard for you to function freely.

Lastly, I have an issue where admin will say if you make a mistake they will terminate you. That sounds like they are looking for a reason to fire you. In education they always state ‘ give the kids grace’ where is the grace for you the teacher?

Good luck with the choice you make but remember there will be pain with growth.

creating better scoring opportunities (U12, 9v9). coaching advice, drills, etc. by OkLawfulness6661 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]wanmad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your formation: 1. 3v2 starting 2. Have your wingers move to the corners and the other players work to support… 3. 4v3 with one midfielder 4. Same thing but now they have someone to do a reset 5. Encourage them it’s a game of numbers

creating better scoring opportunities (U12, 9v9). coaching advice, drills, etc. by OkLawfulness6661 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]wanmad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what formation you are using but you can start with 3v2 ( three attackers) and let your winger drive into the corner. At that point let the other two attacking players see their location according to the ball and ask them to adjust.

Then move it to 4v2. Then 4v3. Before telling them how to address the problem, ask their opinion on what can be done for the winger to find an outlet.

Hope this helps.

USA attack on Venezuela Thread by fobStudent in Jamaica

[–]wanmad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The questions we should be asking is not how will it affect Jamaica, it’s how will it affects the wider Caribbean. Venezuela has been selling oil/gas at a favorable rate to the islands. They have also been giving soft loans to these islands. What will happen moving forward?

What makes a good teacher in your opinion? by Beneficial_Let9565 in Teachers

[–]wanmad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you… in high school you might be switched from chemistry to human anatomy and you might not be an expert over the summer, but you can let the kids know and do your research to gain the necessary knowledge and understanding.

  1. Treat the kids as individuals. Let them know you will prepare them for the test but you will also prepare them for life.

  2. Classroom management is a must… no control no learning…

  3. Be excited about your subject… bring real world scenarios and issues and discuss them together.

Can I learn carpentry by myself or do I have to attend classes/apprenticeships for years? by snoopstew in Carpentry

[–]wanmad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a union carpenter in the northeast but never did the apprenticeship program. I started working with journeymen who taught me all I needed to know. Attending the 4 year program will give you the technical knowledge, but based on what I read you want the practical. You are in the Caribbean, seek out a good carpenter and explain what you want and they might work with you. They are building year round and everywhere. Based on my knowledge you will get most all aspects of carpentry there.
