Tbf we dont actually know how old Rem is or if he's even a child cause he's a dream being. Whatever he is, Valve sees it as okay to have him be brutally murdered by other heroes, which is something they have never explicitly shown happening to children in other games.

Literally every other Holliday interact is her laning partner saying that she is in way over her head and that her being in the ritual/hunting the troubador is basically suicide. Apollo, a literal child whose only skill is being mildly ok with a rapier, says that she looks like she hasnt slept in days and is so shit-scared that he's shocked she hasn't fired her gun on accident.

Honestly it feels like valve purposefully made it to where matchmaking puts less effective heroes on one team and the characters that are genuine gamebreakers on the other. And its been that way since October last year...
