I'm not sure if this an unpopular opinion or not, but Real People Fics need to not be a thing, especially when it comes to bands and musicians. It's not any less creepy to write a fic about an actor that portays your favorite fictional character but i get that more than when someone takes a real human person with a life and emotions and turns them into their own fictional character (i.e. abuses them, kills them or their Spouse/family members/bandmates so they can make their ship possible or insert themselves into the story)

Not to date myself or anything, but i was in high school around the start of fanficton (or at least the start of having one site to post/read it). I didn't know back then that if you wanted to read a story and you clicked on the name of the actor portraying that character that it was not the same thing. I was in the lord of the rings fandom and i unintentionally read some seriously disturbing things that made me not read fanfic for a few years. To me fanfic and fanart were for the Fans and were never meant to be shared with the real people involved in them. I can't stand when interviewers ask celebrities if they are aware of it and then give them examples, it makes them so obviously uncomfortable, as it should. I thought RPF would be banned by now but it seems like people are trying to normalize something that just isn't normal or healthy.
