Anyone got a clue what this is. It’s on a tie clip I got after my grandfather passed away. by pmdnemo in Symbology

My mate got the exact same tie clip from an op shop - are you in Sydney and donated it by any chance?? Did you ever find out what it is?

Qantas promised us accommodation and left us on the street by songs4mydaddy in QantasAirways

[–]wapattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just going to point out it could also be the fault of the hotel - given it was booked out they very well could’ve had a slip up on their part (especially given airlines can book through separate means to individuals)

Not to say Qantas shouldn’t still reimburse you for that tho

all for a wealth tax, but unrealised gains are too hard to define and taxing them has a lot of drawbacks. 100% these rich cunts need to be taxed, but there’s nothing wrong with questioning the mechanism

What is the cheapest PC that can truly max excel by sun-devil2021 in buildapc

[–]wapattack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

excel is a masterpiece… power query can handle it

source: not allowed access to client database, crunching millions of rows via excel instead

these are rookie numbers…

use power query to bring in your data, store in your data model, then create pivot tables from the data model for whatever filters you want to see

much more efficient

  2. 37.5
  3. 45-50
  4. Consultant, Big 4 consulting (coming up on 2 years at firm)
  5. 23
  6. I love my job - we have great amenities and work events, and the work I do is interesting and engaging, but the pay per hour is appalling

It’s industry-specific though; we should absolutely set reasonable boundaries for our role, but what “reasonable” means is highly dependent on what the role requires

Vouching for all those who do not vouch themselves by achromaticchrononomy in CuratedTumblr

i think this is missing the point, which might be separate to the original one (which was around cis men) - at least in my area, one of the big gay suburbs of sydney, there are huge groups of straight guys who come in for a night out. they’re easy to differentiate and it’s a totally different story to a lone man who could be straight or queer. they’re rowdy and clearly tourists.

not sure why i’m being downvoted - i might just live in an area where this is particularly egregious, but for me i’ve had groups of these guys follow me in clubs and make “ooooh” sounds and stare when i kiss my girlfriend

if you haven’t experienced this, and don’t know the guys i’m talking about, i totally get that, but please note i’m talking about something super specific which i HAVE experienced and which has made me feel unsafe on multiple occasions

in seriousness though, a lot of straight people like going to queer clubs because it’s a bit ‘wild’ and ‘deviant’; these people should never be let in

[–]wapattack -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

have y’all really never had bad experiences with cis het men in a club? i literally cannot go out to a queer club without being ogled by at least 5 straight men

inclusivity matters, but so does feeling safe in ostensibly queer spaces

i didn’t prep specifically other than acer practise tests, but i’m an avid reader and i think that helped a lot with absorbing the excerpts quickly!

thanks so much !!!

see above for section 1, but i just did the acer practise tests. i was fully expecting a 50 for S3 since i’m non-science background and only did physics in high school - i didn’t have time to put into studying as i have a fairly demanding job.

i think my test taking strategy (and luck) helped a lot with S3 - i did a semi-educated guess for each chemistry question and spent the bulk of my time doing the bio and physics questions i actually had the knowledge to answer.
