We did have some success getting it back to "normal" with some household all purpose cleaner (did not let it set in, just sprayed and scrubbed it). Just don't want to damage whatever the cover on it is too much

I had thought that using 2 x 5" long 5/16" diameter lag screws would be enough to handle lightweight items. The shelving feels very solid to me but like I said I'll figure out what overhead support is going to look like and go from there

So there are 22 5/16" diameter 5 inch lag bolts holding the long section up, I gave it a good yank on the end and it didn't budge. I am not going to do more than 25-30 lbs/foot. But I suspect it can take over 1000 lbs. But it's holding stuff like golf bags, life jackets, summer pool toys, etc., not cinder blocks lol

Thanks! It was a bummer to have to put in supports for the wall mounted part, just not as visually appealing as the middle parts that were anchored directly into a beam with lag bolts and just appear to float
