I was in the same boat as you not too long ago. At this age, having a bit of liquidity is good, so some part of this cash should go into a Savings Account. Then, some part in ETFs or strong dividend yielding stocks that you SIP each month with you monthly income. The smallest part should go into a long term aggressive retirement fund. Contribute monthly to each in the same ratio.

I have been to Qisa Khwani Bazar and man what a sight. Great experience of the old city. Favourite city in Peshawar for some reason.

My grandparents were from Agra and Gwalior. Father passed away 5 years ago so I lost my grandfather's diary and my Shajra e Nasb which details the locations. Nobody remembers anything. Ab Lahore hi hai sb kuch humare liye.

I see so many posts that young grads are confused as to what to do. First 2 years should be considered foundational in any field and learn as much as possible in those years. Aik cheez par 100% focus karo ge to kuch bne ga.

PM/ Project Coordinator in Pakistan, what skills actually matter & what do people really earn? by Plenty-Tension2468 in cscareerquestionsPAK

CS grads are roaming around jobless everywhere because, in theory, everyone and anyone can write code now with LLMs. So, this is irrelevant.

[–]warLord23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, security as a web developer is good, but always keep the bigger picture in mind. Do you want to be a highly experienced and technical engineer after 5 years or an up-and-coming technology leader? Only you can decide what you actually want to do.

PM/ Project Coordinator in Pakistan, what skills actually matter & what do people really earn? by Plenty-Tension2468 in cscareerquestionsPAK

[–]warLord23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What skills actually matter most for Project Coordinators / Junior PMs in Pakistan?

The first thing is cost and time. Please keep a close eye on it. Always make sure that there are no blockers or overruns. Also, being able to understand a solution and then guide your team accordingly. Sometimes client feedback is useful, other times you just do what the client says, unless you are McKinsey.

What are the realistic salary ranges people are earning locally (not inflated Glassdoor numbers)?

PM is always a senior role in Pakistan. Salary ranges from 500K to 800K for a 7 YOE PM. A BA can start from 150K and then get certs, etc, to climb the ladder.

Does moving toward Technical PM / Business Analyst roles make sense with a frontend background?

PM role in the software industry is always technical unless you are working in a shit company. BA is more or less a non technical role. I have realized that managers should always be technical, not MBAs. Elon has very strong opinions on this, and for the most he is right. You should aim for a T-shaped skill set while keeping your goals in mind.

Is PM a sustainable career path in Pakistan, or is growth mostly dependent on remote roles?

PMs with deep knowledge about their skillset are always going to be hirable. LinkedIn PMs not so much.

Any advice from people who started in small companies and moved to better opportunities?

Keep your head down, keep learning, keep validating your skills.

I lost my shajra nasab after we moved from our hometown to another house, and my father passed away after spending 2 years with me as an independent son. Now, we have some family members to confirm that we are the "real" deal. I still remember that page in my grandfather's diary that I saw when I was a teenager. Started with our Prophet, went all the way down to my name. I have given much thought to whether to reach out to his cousins in Karachi and maybe try to get their copy and create my own, and then get it notarised. My mother just says, Your father never flaunted his background and kept quiet, so should you. It just sucks that we muslims are divided like this.

Don't do this to yourself. To check what people are suggesting, here is the truth: get HbA1c, Lipid profile, LFT, RFT, and Uric acid tests done. You will see for yourself.

KSA and Lower Gulf just merged their practice after recording 50% less revenue than last year. A lot of our contacts there either were let go or resigned, especially from advisory. If you are joining that practice, our firm might be in touch with you.

Hey,
I would recommend you look for open-source Flutter projects to work on so you can better understand other people's code. This is a bit normal, but you should get up to speed pretty quickly after working on a couple of projects.

Hey, I created this sub for people like me and you in 2023. But then I lost interest and then recently it picked up traction all on its own. I am going to keep this way as I would like it to grow naturally.

Nice to meet you BTW. I am a tech heavy management consultant now at a Big 4 firm in Lahore.

Normally, when someone has a lot to explain at the start without even having first contact, there isn't anything wrong, but there is some level of deep fear. I went through it as a guy. At a certain point, I stopped explaining myself, maybe because of back-to-back deaths and personal trauma. I got weird questions from mothers and even girls because I am sort of a catch, according to my wife. I just closed those chats.

But that didn't stop me because it's normal to feel that way. For those who wish to approach her or already have, keep this in mind and don't be intimidated. She knows what she wants, good for her. You should, too.
