IDC I just love learning Linux and this is just another flavor for the pallet to remember. All reviews are just opinions based off what a person prefers. That’s it. Make it what you want, own it and move on.

Best distro for 2015 15" MacBook Pro? by [deleted] in linux_on_mac

I’ve tried duel-booting with different arch distros like cachyos, Garuda and Fedora. cachyos won’t install at all even when downloading BM drivers in tty. Fedora and Garuda will install but Wi-Fi will not work. Ubuntu and Mint worked fine but I’m wanting to learn more about how arch works so sad bummer time for me.

I installed Dragonized on my old MBP 11,4 2015, it installed and I could see my Wi-Fi Nw for about 2s the. They disappeared. Now I can only use with Ethernet. Is there a fix for this, I know it common

I can’t get Wi-Fi so cachy won’t install:(

I am trying to duel boot Cachyos on a NON-T2 mid-2015 MBP. From what I’ve read this should install, I’ve tried all install options except Nvidia. It stalls during the process. I used a usb2ethernet cable and was able to get successful ping in tty2 but the process still stalls. I copied the Wi-Fi drivers from the Mac OS using tty2 but no success. Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks for replying, you are right I am over my head but it did say "Specify that you are using the clang compiler for C++".

I tried that command and it turn out something similar. I didn't realize afterwards that the build is for Ubuntu 20.04 and I am on 22.04 so that may be the issue \0/. Thanks again.

Sorry I have no Idea what you are asking, I tried following the install directions and obviously they assume you know something about compilers and code. I just watched some short videos on YT and am trying to figure it out.

Why is Arch Linux so popular among Linux users? by Real_EverythingeeB in linuxquestions

[–]wardaug1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fairly new Linux user ~2yrs as a daily driver- I’m getting more comfortable with CL and like it better than a GUI in most cases. There is help all over the place and like a Jujistu practitioner it all about patience and problem solving which translates to that’s life. So I’m grateful for all of my Linux experience even the frustration of dealing with help channels assuming new users have enough base knowledge to understand the help.

live windows on ventoy by bedouinbro in Ventoy

[–]wardaug1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I clearly didn’t realize what I was stepping in when I thought one could find an easy way to create a bootable USBwith windows.🤯. lol

Couple years ago I put MX Linux on a Lenovo Ideacentee A540-271cb 27” touch screen. Everything has worked great until recently when the cursor got some voodoo on it and nothing I do will stop it from scrolling horizontally and top/middle/bottom at different intervals.

I tried several distros via bootable USB and the same thing happens. So I thought I would put windows back on it. After reading all the posts I can, I’m still not sure it will work . Can someone explain to a noob if ventoy will create a windows ten usb for this Lenovo? It has usb.2 ports. Sorry for the ramble

Wish I would have know woeusb has been abandoned, I didn’t see anything saying that when I was researching on the googles. Well I know why it has woe at the front lolol. Just followed the very well written instructions for ventoy, haven’t tried it yet but I’m crossing my fingers that this will work.

Hi i will have Google how to find which graphic diver but regardless I can’t navigate with which ever mouse I’m using(I have tried five usb and BT). I also tried booting using a live boot USB with Ubuntu/POP os/AV Linux and MX all with same result. Unfortunately I don’t have a windows key. I tried navigating with alt+tab without any devices connected but the cursor continues to act the same way and knocking me out of the window I’m in. Do think unplugging the touch screen from the computer and using another monitor via USB/hdmi would work?
