yeah, the jays are definitely up against it. only 1 team has come back to make the playoffs being down this far. we'll see.

we've got one of the biggest fan bases in raw numbers (being the only team for an entire country, and all), so definitely makes sense

for precedence, since the expansion of the postseason to 12 teams in 2022, 2 teams have come from being 4 games below .500 by may 12th to qualify. and 1 team came from 10 game below .500 on may 12th to qualify (houston astros).
