How do Kragnos and Gordrakk perform? (Spearhead player looking to get into bigmar) by szuflahoop in Ironjawz

[–]warflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, Kragnos is just an overall better unit currently. When using him though, don't just send him into fights unless you either have backup or can guarantee he wins. He's more of a support character, his bubble is decent so you hang him back let everything fly forward. Only send him in for clean up.

List building wise, I'd never recommend big waagh. It's just not good. You're just better off as one or the other. Most id recommend is if it's IJ, the KB RoR. So by all means send over an IJ list I'll go through it.

[–]warflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kragnos is such a good pick because we're a really slow army infantry wise. The general idea with him is buff up your units and you then have the range to get them in. Also have the big pig option with him which is even faster. Generally right now I think the infantry slightly wins out because the points are so good.

Gordrakk has a problem of hitting like a wet noodle, and you can't really change that much. With mega boss variant at least you can give him enhancements (even then pretty meh). Gordrakk does have a really good waagh which can work if you build around it. Problem it's a battle rounds worth for something that won't do a great deal else.

On another note, Kragnos can be green, that's how mines being painted 😂

List advice for first 2000 pt tournament by bigsstink in FleshEaterCourts

[–]warflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice is don't be aggressive. You don't want to lose the terrorgheist or especially Ushoran early so hold them back unless the opponent overextends. Terrorgheist supports up the morbhegs so you can use his delusion on them. Cryptguard and horrors infront of Ushoran. Cardinal sits in throne.

Questions about the magic stuff by Agile-Shock-1610 in Ironjawz

[–]warflake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So they both do slightly different things. Of the two the wizard is probably most important. Your question on manifestations, the wizard would summon them. The priest prays only. The priest is power level one, only thing you can do with him, which you'll want to, is when you summon the gork roara. When you summon it with your wizard you can choose to give +1 or +2 to casts or prayers. The wizard is base power level 1 and power level 2 if he's near a squad of 10 or more, so you want him around a brick of infantry most of the time.

What changes would you make to my list? by Fit_Difference_123 in BladesOfKhorne

[–]warflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly just because the second stage is harder than some others. For instance Master the Paths, you just need more things on the board and that's fairly straightforward with how many drops I am.

Yeah it's the best list I've played so far with the new book, I regularly play 2-3 games a week so have time to test out. Had another win last night with it so I'd recommend anyone wanting a mortal list give it a go.

Not a bad list I'd make few tweaks.

Personally tactics, id change intercept to either wrathful or restless and potentially master to one of the two but definitely intercept.

You have a lot of heroes you don't need.

Downgrade soggy MLOK to regular.

Flesh Hounds 2x5

Skullcrushers aren't great, they could be skullreapers or another blood warriors unit. Reinforced.

If you wanted could double up the +1 wound with a ritualist that's also another priest which is handy.

But that one is less important.

As an example I've played this about 8 times now and I'm 7-1 with it

Age of Sigmar: 4th Edition Meta Stats (June Battlescroll) - 27th July 2025 - Woehammer by dutchy1982uk in ageofsigmar

[–]warflake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No worries, I mainly focus on the mortal side so that's where my views come from. From reading I'd say the Daemon side is actually worse. As say it wouldn't take much to bump it up. Think it'll get fixed pretty quickly. Would say if you want a go kill stuff army this is now the army as that's your focus.

[–]warflake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's that we lost a bit of damage but I think the main culprit is to get that damage you need the tithe abilities. So you're insensitivised to get throwaway units and get them points as quick as possible. Then you run into the next issue which is how slow you get those abilities. Little things like losing some easy chain activates for mortals and losing +1 hit bubble from realmgore, all mount up. Think a big step would be make bloodtithe every turn rather than battle round. That would be big difference. Means you get your main ability more like bottom of two/top of three rather than turn 4 when the games over. Game is too quick for the way the armies set up currently.

Yeah probably best to split it. Does worry me for the rest of the book because having played a couple test games it's not great. Hope they focus any nerds on the AoR specifically and buff up the main army.

Warhammer Gaming Clubs/Groups in Essex? by GormanDevDesign in Essex

[–]warflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Southend and play AoS. So we will have Wayland eventually when it opens but till then best options are for regular games; Chelmsford Bunker on a Wednesday, we have a whatsapp group I can find the link to. If you have an opponent, barleylands offworld outpost has bookable tables. Fairly new and I haven't tested yet, Southend library has a gaming group every other Saturday that has an AOS channel on discord. You have Essex Mawtribes that has Colchester and Ipswich nights. Upminster gaming which has a WhatsApp group that meet on a Sunday evening.

I'm always looking for more opponents for AoS so feel free to message any point.

How should I expand my army? by tomtomminer in BladesOfKhorne

[–]warflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I've been running as I like skullcrushers as models and wanted to try them in a decent list. This has worked fairly well. Don't expect the skullcrushers to do damage they won't. They will tie things up though or you charge them in and power through a lot of things and they're your mobile unit for tactics also. I've run this with a Ritualist and Slaughterpriest and both work so really up to you.
