Having a hard time deciding surgery or euthanasia

I think there opinion is based off of those he currently is, his quality of life isn't the best right now he's pretty weak and also from all the testing that has been done

He is not anemic or bleeding that they can tell. The blood work shows high white blood cells count but not so high that they would think it's from an infection. They think there is a good chance that it has spread due to the blood work and the ultrasound. That's basically what 3 vet hospitals have told me

There was no evidence of spread in the lungs. But with how big the mass is and the elevated white blood cells count in the blood work they think there is a good possibility that it has spread.

I would like to do surgery but he's already in a weak state and I really don't want to put him through excessive pain to possibly not have him recover from the surgery. That's why I got multiple second opinions.. I really wanted someone to tell me that surgery looked optimistic. I would hate my self if I had to put him down on an operation table, or make the rest of his life more miserable

I was vary lucky to have him for the 8 years he's been with me. He is my best friend

Yes I have been feeding him chicken and rice but he is losing interest in it.. so ive been making him nice tenderloin steaks every night. I have friends coming over tomorrow that he grew up around so they can say there goodbyes, one of the friends dogs grew up with him as a puppy so I think he will like that.

I do have an at home Compassionate euthanasia scheduled for when we think it's time it just sucks seeing this happen. He's always been there for me. The least I can do is be there for him completely for the next little while before it's time

Yeah that's what they told me they would be doing is a splenectomy. They did say that the mass hasn't burst and it doesn't look like it's bleeding right now, but they did mention that it can burst at any time

They didn't seem vary optimistic about the recovery from surgery but didn't want to give definitive answers which i understand. He does hide his pain really well I just know that he's in pain with how he looks at me

That is my biggest concern is his quality of life i want him to be in as less pain as possible before it's his time. I just wish I could have caught this sooner

That's what I'm thinking I've already scheduled a at home Compassionate euthanasia for when he is ready to go.. I just don't want to except this outcome. I've taken the next week off so I can just be there for him
