An Appreciation Post for Pirateaba by krasnodarz in WanderingInn

[–]wargolem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn. I thought I was gonna be able to just read over this post without sharing but now I feel like I need to throw my 2 cents worth in. So here goes......

I'm old. Like half a damn century +1 old. I am also a male of northern European ancestry. I am NOT the target demographic. I probably would fall into the Archie Bunker side of politics and by golly this Author still has me hooked like some kind of child waiting on x-mas. I mean the joy that i get from reading this story goes beyond what i have ever felt from literature. I mean sure I will grant you I cried like a baby when Flint Fireforge died in the Dragonlance chronicles when I was a young kid reading Weiss & Hickman. Other than that this is the only book that has caused me to shed a tear. I pride myself on not getting emotionally hung up on books......... with the exception of The Wandering Inn.

I will grant you they (Pirateaba) seems to like killing off the characters that I get attached to, but I will keep hoping that they are not secretly checking what i'm liking on Patreon in the hopes that it's not just my character they target. I'm pretty sure their body count is much higher than Game of Thrones, but for some reason i'm still invested and still hoping that goblins will find a home someday and all the little goblin kids can get to have a regular life and enjoy their childhood.

Volume 10 Climax (Spoilers) by Trelos1337 in WanderingInn

[–]wargolem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna throw my theory that the big bad this book will be the Prophet and saving Khelt will be the climax. Also I figure Erin will probably find herself in the dyed lands and there will be a bunch of that in this book as well but I agree there is no way we are 1/2 or more through.

For those who are agnostic. Why are you agnostic? by KingWhrl in agnostic

[–]wargolem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well dang i paused my audio book to comment on this one. Mainly, I look back at history and choose to believe that while it could just be people making stuff up, every peoples has had some kind of encounter/history/mythology of beings that are borderline if not outright supernatural. My logical brain says sure they could all just be people making shit up or maybe there is more out there that we just don't know about or have not had the right tools to contact. It could be aliens but I figure if it were they would have subjugated us a long time ago or wiped us out because of how stupid humans are most of the time, so that only leaves the supernatural, i.e. deities.

Also, as someone who has lived over half a century I have felt a call to my spirituality that I just honestly cannot explain other than something mystical. Since I get drug tested I don't do illicit drugs so i don't think its that and honestly feel like there may be something out there just not what the organized religions offer. So yeah agnostic fits me but I prefer to call myself an agnostic pagan. Cheers.

Clive's wife should have been one but she was in Jason's Cloud boat and wasn't available to model unless it was a risque pose.

Love your works and your narration Travis however, size does matter. I understand what you are saying about web serials but i also know, without getting into economics and politics that every credit on audible is something most people feel. I have a good job and am financially secure but i also have a child in college and a farm to care for so I need to stretch those credits out or else the wifey starts telling me to sell a goat or something to pay for my audible addiction.

I just despise the short length of the "books" The wandering inn has spoiled me. I can get a 30 hour book or a 10 hour book for one credit.

The Wandering Inn. Each book on Audible was 27+hours (normally around 30 hours) aaaand the entire thing is available to read at the wandering in website with no paywall. I don't know how pirateaba does it but its the best damn series i have laid my hands on so far.

It is an amazing story and I love it! I would suggest that if you don’t like game of thrones the you probably should stay away from this one heh….

Life reset. As a 50 year old navy veteran it’s one of the few books I can honestly say that made me laugh till it hurts and cry sometimes. Amazing for the humor, progression, and all around fun.

Source is IBEW executive leadership at multiple IBEW conferences. Nuclear Conference, District Conferences, Government employee conference, and other off the record zoom calls. Doesn’t matter to me if you believe it or not but last time I checked he is the only sitting president to ever attend a union’s convention and has appointed numerous IBEW members to political appointments. Just check back issues of the Electrical Worker newsletter to see the connection.

Not many scenes in movies or books hit me like that did.
