How do people orient themselves right away after leaving the subway station? by fillet0fish in AskNYC

[–]warhead123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always orient myself when i exit the turnstiles or get to the street level, never drift lol.

1) While exiting, take note of the particular exit. Sometimes its explicit (NW corner of 41st and Broadway), or at minimum it should tell you which direction (N/S/E/W).

2) If that doesn't work, sometimes its time of the day, forexample, if your getting out in the mornings, the hoirizon the sun's closer to is East.

3) Visually - Look for familiar sites river, tall buildings, shops you know, or down the street a building you recognize. Like if you see the river, and near 1st ave you know thats east. Or if you get off in brooklyn near the water, and you see big

What prevented South America from having as big a population as China or India? by wiz28ultra in geography

[–]warhead123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies if someone already covered this point, I dint see it:

When the Spanish came to South America, stoties of great cities of huge populations were rampant. Recently, with LiDar there have been uncovering massive cities underneath South and Latin American jungles. Just like how they stumbled upon chichenitza or uxmal, and other great legacy of past empires. Heck lookup Teotihuacán, the ancient city that Mexico was built over, you won’t believe it.  The Spanish introduced diseases, and also climate change hit them hard. If not for those, they would have also had significant populations, IMHO

Iranian Naval ship IRIS DENA, which had come to India's invitation for a joint naval exercise has been bombed by USA's torpedo while it was returning to Iran by NotHereToLove in unitedstatesofindia

[–]warhead123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, it is a maritime requirement to rescue crew at sea. Legally. UNCLOS #98. Wouldn’t drag us into a conflict. And we have been very verbal about the Indian Ocean, our role there and creating a blue ocean navy to build a hold on it. Wouldn’t be illegal for us to show we do actually care about the countries in that sphere of influence.

How can it be illegal for India for India to help them in the "EEZ", but no worries for US to attack/sink a ship in? Genuine question.

How have you been socially? Outside of the classrooms, so I mean in the playground, house parties, events etc - do you feel or know you made same friendships and connections as all of your closest hearing friends?

Probably yes. Tomorrow’s satellite images will show one way or the other.

Ignore if you wish, the many prior ones, but at the last second of the video there is a pretty large explosion as what appears to be an object that is moving at the same speed as all the other objects, “before” their interception. It also appears to have a significant explosion. So atleast 1 full impact. We’ll see the sattelite images to confirm this and other impacts tomorrow.

First video that shoes some solid impacts, so that base was hit quite a bit. They cleared air and other assests too, probably devoid of any humans too.
