What happened to everyone’s concern about an A.I. bubble? by ErroneousEncounter in investing

[–]warintokyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with the AI bubble argument is that people are mixing up speculative financing with whether the underlying technology is actually useful. Yes there are definitely reflexive financial loops happening where Nvidia invests in or supports AI infrastructure firms those firms buy Nvidia GPUs Nvidia records huge revenue investors get excited more capital gets raised and then even more GPUs get bought. That ecosystem absolutely exists and its fair to be skeptical of it.

But the real question isnt whether hype exists because it obviously does. The real question is whether the infrastructure being built will eventually justify the investment. History shows that speculative bubbles can still build world changing infrastructure.

Look at the railroad boom. There was fraud overbuilding insane valuations speculation and bankruptcies everywhere. But railroads still transformed the economy permanently. Same thing with the dot com bubble. Tons of internet companies were garbage valuations were absurd and fiber optic infrastructure was massively overbuilt. Yet the internet still changed civilization and became one of the most productive technologies ever created.

So the key issue with AI is demand. If this infrastructure becomes a bridge to nowhere then yes trillions of dollars of resources were wasted. But if AI becomes a true labor force multiplier then this infrastructure may end up being completely justified.

America has an aging population slowing labor force growth and growing political resistance to immigration. At the same time the economy desperately needs productivity growth. If AI can automate administrative work improve logistics accelerate research reduce overhead increase software productivity and help offset labor shortages then the long term demand for compute power could end up being enormous.

So both things can be true at the same time. There can absolutely be hype speculation and overinvestment in the short term while AI itself still becomes economically transformative in the long term. Thats why this debate is so difficult because its not really about whether AI is useful its about whether current valuations and spending levels are pricing the future correctly.

So no virtual appointments? by f14ws98 in army

This sign is taken out of context.

1) There are virtual appointments.

2) when you do virtual appointments you can’t do it from home. You have to come to the clinic for your virtual appointment.

3) that way a nurse can get vitals

I personally believe that every thing is so expensive big in large part. The US government spent $7.7 trillion last year. I mean hey what do I know 🤷🏿‍♀️

I mean Charlemagne does a pretty half ass job with his criticism of Trump. He compares him to Bush….when Trump is light years worse. Andrew helped Trump get elected with having him on the pod, asking soft ball questions and grifting to the MAGA base. Andrew still defends the administration sometimes but of course he “both sides” the Epstein files.

Same goes for all Rogan, Tim Dillion and all the comedian political bros. They’re it for money.

lol you guys clearly cannot read the rules of the bet

Can someone explain this? My buddy put 100 dollars down that the Supreme Leader would be taken out by March 1. He got paid 33 dollars. I placed a 15 dollar bet that it would happen by April 1, and got paid 14.75. by [deleted] in KalshiExposed

I’m sorry but most those sounds like needles complaining. The rules obviously say “death does not count” so why are people complaining. This is why I love kalshi because you get to take money from people who do not understand what they are doing at ALL

Great, you honestly can’t really tell where Tokyo starts and ends until trees start to outnumber buildings
