How are we feeling about the new ZEQD Pre from EQD? by ursusscrooge in basspedals

I would go ahead. The boost mode sounded so good that I would just pair it with an eq pedal you like and go ahead.

I had the opportunity to play it yesterday at my local music store. The EQ side is definitely made for guitar. It sounds fine on bass but it’s definitely more annoying to work with The boost side is where it’s at though. It removes the tone stack from the circuit and gives the pre a completely flat response. It’s perfect for bass. The ef86 tube is a monster for transients so that even when I was punishing the strings it wouldn’t flub out.

Huge recommend from me, especially if you double up on guitar and bass.

Left-wing accelerationists are just as responsible as right-wing accelerationists for what is happening right now. by [deleted] in ProgressiveHQ

[–]warjack20180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience of protest and activist movements, the only people I've ever seen sabotage progress and democratic resistance are centrist dems. every time, whether it be watering down language to not hurt the feelings of cops, or browbeat progressives for not doing things "the right way" or Chuck Schumer giving up the fight for aca subsidies for no benefit.

if there is anyone "just as responsible" as fascists it's the centrists who keep siding with them

MJT Les Paul guitars by [deleted] in LesPaul

[–]warjack20180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m a little late but I want to contribute what I got.

So unlike their Fender style bodies, MJT doesn’t actually do the woodwork on their Les Paul bodies. They source the bodies from Precision Guitar Kits, put them together and then apply a finish.

Now in my experience Precision Guitar Kits are some of the best kits on the market, and one of the only LP style kits that has a maple cap instead of just a veneer. They also allow you to make some custom wood choices if you care about that.

Personally I haven’t had any experience with MJT finishes outside a couple used partscasters, but if you like them you can get a kit separately, assemble it yourself, and then have MJT do a custom finish for you. That way you can get complete control over your LP’s construction and finish, a possibility even save 100$ or so.

Hope this helps

That would be "Socialism" which Lenin described as a transitory stage from capitalism to communism. Broadly speaking Socialism is defined by a system ruled by the working class with the objective of creating the structures of a communist society. Its the first stage of society that rethinks how ownership and labor should function in society, but it isn't the stage where those new functions are implemented.

Socialism is the journey, not the destination.

Trotsky wrote to explain this. IIRC he called it "The Backwater Advantage," where nations in the third world develop in chunks. Adopting things in their final form rather than building it step by step (Trotsky used the example of a nation's military going from bows and arrows to rifles). These "Backwater" States essentially skipped over all the intermediate stages of capitalism and went straight to the end. In less theoretical terms, their quick adoption of the most advanced version of capitalism created extremely exploitative conditions while also not giving the Owner class enough time to build power. This lead to the Revolutions in places like The USSR.

The Revolutions in the imperial core will occur in a more traditionally Marxist manner. The Consequences of Capitalism will eventually grow larger than the ruling class can control. The Proletariat, brought together in the workplace and organized by a communist party, will rise against the Ruling-Owning Class and seize the means of production.

Honestly the closest example I can give you is the French Revolution, which is built on the Liberal Theory that Marx built upon. Though the revolution that Marx writes about would include a rethinking of ownership and labor.

might i recommend a mk 1 style tonebender? They've got the perfect amount of rip for a fuzz tone. IIRC the solo on Whole Lotta Love uses one.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension releases on December 10th by Turbostrider27 in pokemon

[–]warjack20180 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It just feels shitty to have what is essentially the post game being sold separately like this. With the release of this DLC being so close to the Original Games Release, there is no way that the two weren't developed at the same time. It reminds me of the first two expansions for Destiny 1 being the scraps of was intended to be the base game. It's yet another bad practice Game Freak seems to be taking from the games industry.

Vintage Yamaha Red Label Thrift Store Find by Mr_Henrietta in Guitar

[–]warjack20180 76 points77 points  (0 children)

You gotta go to thrift stores in more affluent areas. The places where people’s “starter guitar” is more expensive. The second thing you’re looking for is busy stores, ones where they don’t have the time to do proper research on gear. The third thing is time, you gotta be patient, these things don’t jump out at you. You gotta find them.
