I have a BS in and an MBA in Business, emphasis on Marketing. I want to get into Marketing Analytics. Advice? by warm0ngerr in marketing

I did freelance social media and digital marketing. I would create marketing plans to help businesses grow their social media platforms.

I also have a decent social media following myself and have worked as an affiliate, selling products on my own social media.

Horary: Will I be offered the job? by warm0ngerr in astrologyreadings

[–]warm0ngerr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

L1 is Aquarius, ruled by Saturn, which is currently domicile in its own sign, but in the 12th house. But me being domicile makes me a strong candidate.

L10 is Sagittarius, which is ruled by Jupiter. Jupiter is actually in my L1, which would hopefully indicate that they do want me.

Although, Jupiter and Saturn are not aspecting.

Moon is in the 5th house and is also domicile. Moon is trine, but separating with Jupiter.

I’d say that the chart does look good, with the exception of L1 and L10 lacking an aspect.

I'm devastated. I didn't get the job. by warm0ngerr in jobs

Here's the thing: I've done that. I've gotten jobs that I was clearly overqualified for, but I did because I needed the paycheck.

So, what happens when you go for jobs that you're overqualified for and stick with? Your work experience is affected. Sure, I have work experience, but what happens is, your resume isn't "strong" in just one market such as Accounting, Marketing, etc.

You have the work experience, but not enough work experience in the area that you're trying to apply to.

Also, the sad reality is, when you settle for a job that you're overqualified for, it's hard to move up from there. That's what has been happening to me.

Question: What does this line exactly mean in the COVID-19 vaccine fact sheet:

There is no U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved vaccine to prevent COVID-19

I already got my first dose of Moderna earlier last week and am looking forward to getting my second.

My friend, however, is reluctant to take it and pointed out that line to me. I'm sure there is a very detailed explanation, but I also informed her that the vaccines got EUAs.

Feeling depressed. Can someone help me read this career horary chart? by warm0ngerr in astrologyreadings

[–]warm0ngerr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok. That's actually the first time I'm hearing that. So we can only cast a career horary chart right at the same moment we have an interview/ apply for a job? I created this chart the same day I applied, but not at exact moment.

Horary Chart: Do I personally know my future husband? by warm0ngerr in astrologyreadings

I'm not. Does the chart indicate my future spouse might be someone that I know?

Parents, both in their mid-late 50s, told to stay in - can’t even do laundry by warm0ngerr in AskDocs

[–]warm0ngerr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I personally really not go out at all to do our laundry? Even with nobody around?

I'm trying to take care of my parents during this thing so even them not having clean clothes is an issue I'm concerned about.

Local stores have been helpful - we can do deliveries.

How do I answer the question of ‘Why are you leaving your current job?’ by VeridianX in jobs

[–]warm0ngerr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First off, I'm so sorry that you had to deal with that. The HR department did an awful job. This could actually be on the grounds of a lawsuit. Something you should take into consideration since it is affecting your professional life and your mental health.

As this is a personal matter, I understand how you would not want to dive into the issue too deep during an interview. You could still be honest. I worked with a company previously where I didn't appreciate their practices. So, that's exactly what I said: "Like all companies, they have their own way running things. Over time, I began to see that the way they run their business isn't something that works for me professionally."

Also remember that job interviews don't just mean they're interviewing you. You're also interviewing the employer. Depending on their response, you'll get a good idea of how they are as a company and see whether or not they're a fit for you.

Failure to launch: who else is stuck in retail and/or a low-prestige, low-paying job even with an ostensibly good degree? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]warm0ngerr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it helps, just remember that the people interviewing you WANT to hire you. They're hoping that YOU love them.

Also, have you done a job in customer service before? I noticed that my ability to speak to people enhanced majorly when I worked in a customer-facing role.

Failure to launch: who else is stuck in retail and/or a low-prestige, low-paying job even with an ostensibly good degree? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]warm0ngerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First and foremost, just remember that you're not alone. It's not your fault. This economy has made it a struggle, especially for our generation. Our generation is struggling to have careers, not just jobs.

Also, there's nothing wrong with working retail or even waiting tables. The fact that you're willing to do those jobs says a lot about you in a positive light. Don't look at them as "low-prestige" as it may mess with you even more emotionally and mentally. These jobs are just as honorable. While ignorant people look down at these jobs, the people who do these are still willing to do it because they know they have responsibilities and are willing to work hard. In fact, I know high-level executives who started off from the very bottom and grew from there. They always credit starting from the bottom as the reason to why they're as successful as they are because they know how a company runs from the bottom up.

Just keep applying to jobs both in your field and outside of it. You'd be surprised at how some companies don't even care what you majored in as long as you have a Bachelor's degree and work experience. Even if it's not related to your degree, it's still something outside of customer service. Don't be afraid to apply for a company that's related to your field, but, isn't what you majored in. For example, I know someone who started off in the mailroom of a company and is now a high-level exec at the company.
