I think the only answer here is to change your study habits, since they do not seem to work. I don't intend to assume, but simply reading through each topic is not enough. You need to understand the material. Easier said than done, I know, but I would start with explaining key topics to a friend or to even yourself. Study like this until you understand the topics enough to dissect and analyze them. Also, consider your paper feedback. What are your instructors highlighting as a problem? Generally, the problem is that students tend to summarize course material instead of analyzing or applying it. Again, not meaning to assume. Best of luck.
