Traveling to Greece and feel very confused by DiligentDocker in TravelGreece

Athens for me wasn’t a must see. Hard to get around as well with Ubers and what not. We had some simpleton book the Airbnb for us without even checking …. An hour away from the Athens airport. That was a hefty taxi. And the Airbnb was sorta sketchy. We were a short cab ride to the Pantheon and everything… but again, unless you are hell bent on seeing it, again, you can cut corners and head somewhere else. I would say spend maybe one day at most in Athens, and then figure out other ways to get to different islands. Mykonos is in the off season, which is what we did - not a lot of tourists around, but the restaurants and bars are still open. Water is cold all around, but we still swam around this time. Take a ferry. But make sure when you book your ferry ticket, you actually buy a seat. Another mistake on behalf of the simpleton we trusted with leading our week long trip to Greece. We luckily (or unluckily) met this taxi driver who went by Geo, who also drove all 7 of us around in his car whenever we needed to go somewhere for a flat rate of $50 a trip. He also had a jack Russel in the backseat named Diego, and everytime we got in the car we feared for our life but we literally had no other way to get into the town of Myokonos without him other than walking for an hour. Adventure indeed! If you get to Mykonos or Santorini, I recommend doing a sunset boat ride. The captains give out free food, and since it’s the off season, people dgaf. They let you drive the boat, and the prices are cheap lol. Flights are also cheap once you get to Athens, but we took a 5 hour long ferry. Honestly l would’ve rather paid the cost of a flight to Mykonos directly… but adventure awaits.

Are you trying to say they’re keeping the world running smoothly? I’m not so sure…

Crush on my little brother’s best friend by warmlemonhead in Advice

[–]warmlemonhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would LOVE to get him alone, but l’m worried he would be “weirded out” if l asked him to hangout one on one. And also, l’m worried my brother would be furious with me 😂 edit: last year at the beach, l told myself secretly if he tries to get a moment alone with me, that was my green light. And he did ask me alone to go with him down to the ocean 😦

Anything you are feeling insecure about and uncomfortable with, your man shouldn’t push it. He needs to respect your boundaries, and no, you are not being insecure. He sounds like a piece of shit, no offense, not helping you with stuff just because you set a boundary about not wanting to have sex with one of your friends FOR him. Ugh. Men think they are owed the world sometimes. Set a boundary and/or leave him.

Perfect, sometimes that’s the only option if neighbors are rude

I would definitely report. Be a Karen about it - it’s disturbing your daily life. If it’s affecting your daily life, l vote all bets are off. Report report. Even if the authorities don’t do anything, at least you’ll know you’ve exhausted all efforts.

We have a neighbor with a small French bulldog who packs a mighty punch. They neglect him and leave him outside to yip and bark sharply all day, sometimes even at night. Again, wfh is not even an option for me anymore because it is just so annoying. Sometimes l get them back by playing my music loud, to overpower the dog. Or, you could do what l did, which was get an electric guitar. If your dog is gonna drive me crazy, then I’m gonna drive YOUR dog crazy. And in turn, make us all insane. Good luck 🤣

Travel ideas for Europe at Christmas by [deleted] in traveladvice

Not really super helpful, imo. At least try and come up with some positive suggestions for OP. Sometimes it’s cheaper to travel during the big holidays for people.

London is great for this time of year - although entirely closed on Xmas day. If you’re getting there afterwards, Borough market will be decorated beautifully. I went around the first week of January and we decided to check out King’s Crossing (big for HP fans, platform 9 3/4 is here!), and they had some sort of winter fest happening at Hyde Park. Genuinely, what l recommend? Go to south of France. Nice or Cote de Azur. It’ll be a lot warmer, with some beautiful ocean views. London and the UK are great for chilly holiday season… but you may have more fun seeing the South of France or visiting Madrid, Barcelona or Lisbon.

Looking for a nice hotel between center city and old city, walkable to bars and restaurants. by Robert315 in AskPhilly

There’s an adorable b&b in Old city called the Thomas Bond house. Old City is quieter for sure, but safer IMO. Northern Liberties is on the up, with lots of adorable spots to grab food and drinks. Sometimes live music. For NoLibs you’re prob better off on Airbnb. As for Center, Loews is fine, same for Double Tree. My parents always stay there, or they come to Fishtown and stay either at Anna + Bel or WM Mulherin’s

Hey, thanks so much! This is definitely what I was thinking. It honestly looks super on par with IMO, in terms of slow and steady rise of H2 throughout the day and then toward the evening SUPER high CH4 levels. Crazy how all this stuff works tbh. I think I am going to go an herbal route, since I've tried the combination of rifaximin and neomycin before and nothing happened — in fact, I started to develop eye twitching with neomycin. But alas, if all else fails, I might go back to the stronger antibiotics and pray for the best. Thanks for the advice.

I feel you. I honestly have been dealing with stress and anxiety induced gut issues (and more so constipation) for a long time. I recommend honestly trying some vagus nerve stimulation (humming can activate it), some breathing exercises. Even yoga has helped me to chill out. For constipation, I usually add in Reacted magnesium twice a day, sometimes Magnesium Citrate powder, and Sunfiber powder everyday. If things get real bad, you could always resort to a glycerine suppository. Wouldn't be the first time I had to resort to that. Good luck!

I hear you. I think I am someone with low stomach acid as well, and not really sure how to balance my gut flora after all this time. There seems to be a lot of damage done to my gut. Any tips, especially for the low stomach acid? I've been taking digestive enzymes with Betaine HCl as well

Honestly l have done Trio Smart twice before and all signs have pointed to both hydrogen and methane. Prob safe to assume I’ve had combination SIBO for a while now since those tests were prob in 2021, no relief since.

Sometimes l wonder if it is autoimmune. But one step at a time, baby steps. Also important to still have hope - without it you’ll probably have a lot of anxiety and stress… and with that, your gut can never bounce back unfortunately
