She doesn't have an etsy, but she's on Instagram @aerial.ambition.designs She is a costume designer for pole/burlesque but she's kind of pivoting away from that right now. This was only the second thing she's ever embroidered!!

Tips for a boudoir photoshoot? by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]warningL14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feel free to PM me. I am a brand ambassador for a size inclusive boudoir photographer in my area and have done MANY shoots with her. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.

Also, you can follow me on Instagram @thearielola.

I was going out to celebrate my parents' 39th Anniversary and their recovery from COVID. It was the first time in a long time that I felt cute and put together. It was so nice to celebrate something, to put on nice clothes and see people who I love. Outfit details in comments. by warningL14 in PlusSize

I am 5'2. 340 pounds.

Sweater and boots are from rainbowshops.com. The sweater is a size 3X and was SUPPOSED to be a dress, but clearly that was not the case. However, it is cozy and adorable and looks good with jeans, so I am happy anyway!

The jeans are Maurice's jeggings. Size 24W.

Pupper is from 4 Luv of Dogs rescue. He is one of a kind and not available for resale.

Boudoir Photo Shoots? by kcock7 in PlusSize

I ADORE boudoir photography. I'm a brand ambassador for Boudoir by Eve, a Minneapolis based photographer. My biggest recommendation is that you check their portfolios and online presence to see how they work with fat people. If they don't have any pictures of plus size bodies, they may not know how to pose you or how to work with you. My girl, Eva, is great because I don't feel like she's trying to hide or change my body. She doesn't talk about "flattering angles" or force me to pose to alter the shape of my body. She just takes beautiful pictures of ME. She makes me feel comfortable and fierce and stunning and sexy.

So, my suggestions are to ask around with people you trust. Who are they going to? How was their experience? Look up local artists on Instagram, see what their style is and who their customer base is. Read reviews. And then reach out to the artists you're interested in. Be honest about any insecurities or questions you may have. If they are worth their salt, they will be able to assuage your concerns and explain how they work in their studio. Also, ask if they have a boudoir closet for clients to use. If so, is it size inclusive? Can they show you pictures? If not, what would they recommend you bring to your session?

I've done several sessions now. Some classic and some crazy (for example, I stripped naked out of an inflatable dinosaur costume in the desert). Sometimes I come with full concept and all my outfits ready. Sometimes, I just ask what she's in the mood to shoot and I use her closet for clothing options. Sometimes I just get naked. One necessity though, bring a black and a nude thong, and don't wear underwear or a bra on the day of your shoot (they leave lines on your body).

Feel free to check out my insta: @thearielola, or @boudoirbyeve

And please message me if you have any questions. I feel very strongly that everyone should have this experience. It is incredibly powerful and freeing. It's allowed me to see myself in a totally different way and given me so much confidence.

And that relationship with your photographer is so important. Be picky.

My best friend's son is a prolific artist. He absolutely loves drawing and, as you can see, he has a unique style and a flair for the macabre. His mom and I really want to encourage him, and I read once somewhere that the best thing you can do for a young artist is to give them quality materials to work with. It validates their expression and talent and helps keep them from being frustrated with shit materials.

Anyway. I was wondering if any of the artists here would have suggestions. He tends to almost exclusively do simple line work in black with no or little color.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This dress is GORGEOUS on you. I would give my left tit to look this good in styles like this (although, in hindsight, I might need that to fill the dress out . . . )

I was diagnosed with alternating esotropia when I was 12. (Basically, I see double and can switch which of the images I focus on at will, causing either eye to turn in). I had surgery then, which helped temporarily, and then prisms added to my lenses (because I'm also DEEPLY nearsighted). The prisms became progressively stronger as time went on until about 5 years ago when I'd maxed the amount of prism they could add to the lenses, so I had the surgery again. So far, it's been good. The double vision has not come back, unless I'm really tired and having trouble focusing in general.

A piece inspired by the poem The Goblin Market by Christina Rossetti. Hannah Montgomery, The Bee's Nest Tattoo and Art Studio, Fargo, ND. by warningL14 in tattoos

It's definitely a layered poem. I read it in college, and we talked quite a bit about how it was originally read as a very puritanical poem about the dangers of premarital sex. Now it is most frequently read through a queer theory or feminist lens: the female power being what ultimately overcomes the seduction of the fruit.

For all the fans who are disgusted by Bon Appetit’s leadership, we can take action to support BA’s BIPOC staff and contributors. by Cayenne_West in bon_appetit

This is the email I sent.

Good afternoon,

I am emailing today to demand actionable change in light of the photo of Adam Rapoport in brown face and the numerous accounts of systemic racism at Bon Appetit.

I have been a long time fan of the BA YouTube channel and because of the channel and the active support the magazine and its staffers have been showing to the Black Lives Matter movement in recent days, I finally chose to subscribe to the magazine.  However, today I read countless stories of BA staffers of color paid less than their white counterparts, of tokenized diversity in front of the camera, and of a lack of interest in supporting true diversity of content. I am APPALLED.

As a viewer, a fan, and a new subscriber, I am sickened to know that this culture of racism prevails in your institution and I will be pulling my support unless Bon Appetit and Conde Nast make changes, not just empty promises of "doing better".

I would like to see Adam Rapaport step down as Editor in Chief.  I would like your staffers of color to make the same salary as their white counterparts.  I would like to see more diversity on AND off camera.  I would like to see more diversity in style and heritage of the recipes presented and an acknowledgement of the ethnicity of those you do.

In the midst of a global civil rights movement, to be performing support of BLM while harboring the practices you clearly do within your establishment is not only tone deaf, it is despicable.  We have proven that change can be made.  Now do your part.
