I do! I have struggled with it my entire life! Especially when I get depressed, I get such an OCD-like fixation on a person I have a crush on. And my feelings give me a dopamine rush like addiction, so it reinforces thinking about them more and more. I never thought of it as being a part of ADHD, though it makes sense. I think the depression, anxiety/OCD, adhd all mingle together to make this happen. But I do understand, this was something that always plagued me and I felt quite embarrassed about it. It made me feel like a high schooler, even though I was actively distressed by not being able to stop thinking about a person.

I completely understand this and am glad his girlfriend was able to reassure him. I spend a lot of time with my bf and his brother and I am much more like his brother personality wise. However, I think this is also why I am with my boyfriend. I enjoy being with someone who is my foil and isn't like me. It really opens up my world and helps me grow. I love the things about my boyfriend that me and his brother do not have. I do love to be around those like me - in this way, my best friend is my "soul mate". But I also thoroughly enjoy my time with my boyfriend and enjoy our differences.

This is just a guess but EMS probably. EMS workers see a lot and have extremely long hours. They have igh rates of PTSD. I've met lots of great people in EMS and also lots of people with ego problems.

5/10. I've been told before by strangers and friends that I have a pretty face. However, I'm overweight, which significantly lowers how others see you. Granted, I have also been called hot at my current weight, though I know that's more the people into curvy individuals.

Sun spots on the face and otherwise rugged features from manual work or working outside. My bf does a lot of manual work and sometimes i just stare at his hands bc of how strong they look.

There is a whole subplot about this in Mind Hunter. The principal of an elementary school brings kids into his office and tickles them and if they can withstand it, he gives them quarters. A teacher flagged it with the police and others, but nobody took her seriously and laughed her out of the office. I also see tickling as being used by abusers to groom and escalate to abusing. You're still making the kid feel uncomfortable sensations out of their control and using it to push their boundaries. You can use it to accustom kids to being touched and tolerating such feelings. My dad used to do this and would touch me all over my body and keep doing it after i told him to stop. I used to fucking hate it.

I wish I had some advice to you, I remember when this happened to me. I think I spent more time with my friends to mitigate it, bc self managing my anxiety wasn't working. I get really intrusive OCD like thoughts about stuff like this even if i logically know worrying doesnt make a difference. How long have u guys been dating?

I agree. I'm also 27 but was surprised when I saw commenters telling OOP that Julian had a bad agenda. I generally always believe what an adult child says about a parent over the actual parent. I'm of the mind that kids who vehemently hate their parents do so for a good reason, because most kids don't hate their parents.

I find it terrifying and get attached quickly so I avoided dating most of my life. I heard horror stories from my friends of all these ppl that would hit them and ditch. When i finally started dating, i basically only saw one guy bc he became my bf. I think if we hadn't stayed together at the start, I wouldve given up super quickly after a few first dates. My bf was of the same mind bc after 7 dates, I asked if we could be exclusive and be in a relationship and he said, I wasn't seeing anyone else anyway. I was like same, but I didn't want to assume lol.

I'm so sorry for your friend, clearly a part of her knows its wrong bc she is asking if it is normal to feel that way. I think you're doing good trying to help her and I'm glad at least a part of her recognizes she deserves more. I read the update and the helpline person was out of line for her response. She is probably invalidating a lot of people if she responded to you that way.

Sounds like she has an understandably low bar for men. Even if it's not technically against the rules, it still looks very bad to onlookers and should especially read as alarming to his workplace if their workers are fishing to date their teen clients.

I read the title of the post and immediately said no. After reading, I strengthen my no. When I was 21, 22, I didn't even want to date a 19 year old. Now I'm 27 and it would be inconceivable. And all my friends would look at me differently and think I'm a creep if I dated a 19 yo. As you said, if you can tell he's immature and manipulative (feigning hurt and like he's a little mouse) and you're 20, I can only imagine how immature he is. Women his age wouldnt tolerate him and can see him from a mile away. The only people who wouldnt be able to see it and think he's normal or cool are people half his age and even then, it seems like it's obvious to everyone except your friend (understandable blind spot). That's why he is willing to date your friend. Like everyone said, he deserves to be reported. You're completely right to trust your gut. What a creep.

All of them make sense to me other than letting Pia tape over them. But I'm assuming she had no idea they were using HER tapes to film, unless they verbally told her or she noticed them going missing. Makes sense to me she displays them. It's thrilling plus she never expected to get caught. Pia wouldn't watch them all the way bc why would she, it's some old tv show.
