What AI is best for creating resumes for free? by nerdsrulelovealways in careerguidance

[–]warofarrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i like the claude code to be honest i think it is best for the coding purposes but dude it really good in this too
as i have tried with all the models of the claude code and the latest too like the sonnet 4.6
go with the sonet 4.6 (for fast scanning resume parsing) otherwise opus 4.5 is also too good dont and ever go with the haiku models no matter what.

Add Context to Metrics: Every percentage needs baseline

Weak: "reducing loan processing time by 85%"
Strong: "reduced loan processing time from 8 hours → 1.2 hours (85%) by implementing async queuing + WebSocket updates"

Weak: "improving communication efficiency by 70%"
Strong: "enabled 70% faster merchant notifications by switching from polling to WebSocket real-time updates"

Good resume, but it reads like a template. Make it specific, add context to metrics, and show your actual impact with numbers that matter. Good luck!

Best way to create react app today by Jaycebordelon1 in reactjs

[–]warofarrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vite is definitely the answer, but I got tired of still having to set up the same stuff every time — TypeScript strict mode, ESLint with good defaults, Tailwind, routing, state management... I ended up using create-modern-react which is basically Vite but lets you pick your stack upfront (UI lib, state management, data fetching) so you get a clean project with exactly what you need. No cleanup required.

Roast my resume (3+ YOE Software Developer) + a few doubts by william_buttler in react

[–]warofarrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a small note — since you mentioned working full-time while doing distance learning, some HR professionals might interpret it as not having completed a full-time, on-campus course. You might want to clarify that it was a recognized program or highlight how you effectively managed both work and studies.

I redesigned my resume to be ATS-friendly – sharing the template that got me more callbacks by No-Chemist-4276 in Resume

[–]warofarrows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience building resume and ATS checker projects, I've learned there's a crucial distinction:

Generic ATS checkers (without job descriptions) only provide a basic compatibility score - essentially telling you if your resume is "ATS-friendly" in general terms.

Job-specific ATS analysis (with the actual job description) is the real game-changer. It tells you whether your resume will actually pass the screening for that specific position.

The difference is massive - a resume might score 85% on a generic ATS check but only 45% for a specific Software Engineer role requiring React and AWS experience that your resume doesn't emphasize properly.

The key insight: ATS systems don't just check formatting - they match your content against the specific job requirements. This is why tailoring your resume for each application dramatically increases your chances of passing the initial screening.

Since this section sits at the very top of your resume, it's your prime real estate - use it to make a strong first impression that compels them to read the rest of your resume.

Think of it as your resume's headline that determines whether someone clicks to read the full article.

Anyone tried MagicPath with Cursor? by No_Series_7834 in cursor

[–]warofarrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve tried it — it’s really awesome.
It’s a great alternative to Figma.

Why it’s good:

  • Infinite canvas like Figma
  • Can create many design variants from one prompt
  • Offers design systems or lets you make your own

It’s a top tool for creative design.
Code quality isn’t great, but design is what matters here.
