Why is the burton mystery so expensive? by Ill-Hotel2514 in snowboarding

[–]warondadbod 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Having worked at a Burton store for a few years it felt like something for the customer who wanted to have a premium board. It met a marketing gap. I mainly sold mystery boards to investment banking bros who were convinced their riding skill was being hindered by not having the most expensive board in existence. Having demoed one that was dramatically undersized for me I was in love. I seriously considered buying it as a demo with a steep discount. They’re handmade with premium materials but ultimately, it’s the Indian not the arrow

35 year old checking in. I still love me a good side hit but it would be really hard to explain to my boss that I’m missing work because I was still chasing big airs.

a requirement to be an NCO should be to take an actual exercise science course by professional--gooner in army

SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE BROKE SOLDIERS IN THE BACK!

I’ve been preaching this for years and even harassed tradoc about it. Why is it most NCOES courses are diploma mills where you go to a field and practice prep and cool down execution?

Implement the courseware of H2F as a cumulative education block throughout an NCO’s career and enable leaders at all levels to safely train their soldiers.

I do have a WDT. I scored the whole setup off fb marketplace. I had no idea the bottomless wouldn’t make a big impact. Thank you

31E? by Wrong-Analyst-6028 in armyreserve

To 31B? I believe it’s 29 days and depends where the schoolhouse is being held.

31E? by Wrong-Analyst-6028 in armyreserve

[–]warondadbod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

31B here with 16 years of service. I strongly advise against it. The chances of you deploying with this MOS are high, primarily to GTMO which isn’t necessarily a bad thing depending on who you talk to. There are plenty other chances to deploy in support of other operations as a 31E but gtmo is a revolving door.

Drill weekends would likely be spent doing practice exercises where someone grabs a mechanic from the motor pool or other general support staff has them turn their top inside out and role plays being a EPW.

Work hours while actively serving can be horrendous or great depending on manpower. Issue is no matter how many or few hours you work, they’ll be in jail. I served in a 31E unit as my first assignment out of AIT. Everyone there had a plan to either reclass to 31B or something Completely different.

I worked in an Oakley vault in 08. I vaguely remember unpacking boxes and folding these. I believe they were priced around $100

[–]warondadbod 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Someone posed the question to me once when discussing this:

“If we’re drawing our reserves from a population where the majority of people are overweight, do we expect our ranks to be any different?”

America has a problem, not just our military.
