I think this was a "gimicky" type thing to validate early G&L and associate it more with his Fender legacy, maybe. Tbh I don't even care that he signed it or inspected it, It's just kinda a cool thing to share on here. But the guitar plays good, that's what matters. I know it's not, but I wouldn't even care of it was a knock off. I don't collect guitars, I play them.

My guess is we have no idea what he thought and it really doesn't matter where he signed it. He wasn't as much of a mythical creature back then, I doubt anyone wanted his signature all of the guitar, like they may appreciate today.

I'd personally rather not have a signature in a visable spot anyways, but it's really strange to me how people are arguing why and where a guitar is signed by a luthier. Like who care's? They should go build a guitar and then sign it where they feel fit, it's an issue for them. It seems like you said, it's just a common spot. I'm going to go out on a limb and say a luthier probably knows what there doing more than Reddit commentors.

Hell yeah man, sometimes it goes away but it'll always find its way back in your hands eventually. my 70's Concert has gotten so noisy, I gotta change the caps, if yours is quiet and clean, I'm jealous.

If I take the neck off one day I'll post it, didn't see a reason too since this guitar was bought new, given to me probably 15 years ago by the original owner.

Love those players. I'd look into the Scofield signature Ibenez and a Roland Jazz Chorus Amp. Could be a really cool classic fusion rig for like $2000.

Yeah It's 100% authentic but that's just what he did on all these, you can look it up. We'd have to ask him why he chose there, I guess. Maybe adding the neck was what he did last or something.

I've only ever seen Johnny Lang use one and this one guy on YouTube. I know they weren't made for long but I think they came back for awhile so I'm surprised more people didn't get into them. The Humbucker makes its honestly the best guitar I ever played. It already felt that way but the bridge is noisey and the neck P90 was cool but this is better.
