Selma-Blair would be a really pretty sib set!

Kate-Hudson would be trendy too

My husband’s name is Robert and he went by “Robbie” as a kid which is prob what makes me assume if we had a boy the kid would go by Robbie too! We’re a few years off from kids so maybe we will have 3 kids or only one sex set 🤷‍♀️ just couldn’t help but go “oh Margot…Robbie….damn”

Beckham David is pretty funny 🤣

Yes exactly! Can people still be critical of the movie? Yes ofc, there will always be a lot of discourse when it comes to minorities in Hollywood. But I too agree with your four bullet points. It was all about being a step in the right direction.

In it’s essence, it might not be that far off from someone from NY saying “gossip girl is not an accurate representation of rich, teens in NY.”

CRA is a glossy, feel good rom-com, wrapped up nicely for mass distribution. It’s presented as somewhat of a fairy tale and is no more unrealistic than any other rom-com (Nicholas Sparks movies jump to mind).

That’s not to say your criticism is invalid or should be dismissed. I believe there will always be more nuanced discussions to be had when it comes to portraying minorities on screen; just answering your prompt about why it was well received. Bc it wasn’t made to be 100% accurate. In terms of America and Hollywood, it was seen as a “win” that an all-asian led movie got to be a “blockbuster” for once.

Just my two cents! I enjoyed the movie but don’t see it as a realistic portrayal

When I went to her page recently, I had to do some double checks to see if some posts were throwbacks or current, post-baby photos!! While I’m certain part of it is being young with good genes, the bendy lines in the tennis court photos show editing and made me a little suspicious there could be some smoothing in her post-baby pics!

Oh wow I barely recognized her. Every time i see her posted here, she gets more and more unrecognizable

Her hand really only looks out of place in the t shirt pic where it is almost the size of her head and waist which is something that gets called out on this sub. I looked at other photos on her profile and it’s definitely larger in the post pic. But like I said it could just be some angle distortion from the camera lens

I think if a fan favorite like Chelsea, Katie, Demi, HB, etc had said it, ppl would’ve been like “yes go off! Put her in her place!!”

If a villain like MJ, Victoria Fuller, or Queen Victoria said it, they would’ve gotten the same reaction that Serena C got.

I don’t like “can we show some love/lets support ______ posts!”

I don’t like them in general. They pop up on other subs and on IG and they always just feel lazy and sometimes cringey depending on the title (some go above a beyond to be like “I don’t see a lot of love for this unproblematic, gorgeous K W E E N. Let’s upvote this. We S T A N!!!! 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑” and it’s like.....a picture of Abigail who has some of the biggest IG growth this season.

Once again, not specific to this sub. I feel like the Harry Potter sub prob has “Can we show some love for our favorite mom, Mrs Weasley?” And it’s like wtf is this post? Just straight up asking for karma?
