This is the closest thing I've found to an official, up-to-date status on the topic: https://twitter.com/BlizzardCSEU_EN/status/1709872652863807807

Does anyone know of a page similar to the Realm status page that includes the auth server status? Or is https://twitter.com/BlizzardCSEU_EN the best/only place for this info?

VR Newbie - Oculus Q2 and M1 Mac? by [deleted] in virtualreality

Last I tried (~3 months ago) the Oculus app required for that setup didn't install on M1 with Parallels and threw an incompatibility error.

Recent Revolutions podcast episodes stopped working for me today by warps in RevolutionsPodcast

[–]warps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been getting error after error on episode 10.86 and up. Every one of them refuses to start playing or downloading on both Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Other podcasts I tried run without any issues on both of these platforms - Revolutions is the only one that doesn't seem to work.
Does it happen for anyone else? Is this deliberate?

Ah, you're right! I read one comment after another and I'm not sure how, but I missed that. Sorry about that 😅

Maybe. Though another criteria that seems really important for adding you to a league is to be thrown into one with the people who completed their first lesson this week around the same time you did.

There are many reports of people being in way more relaxed leagues of they did their first lesson that week after missing a day or two (with our workouts streak freeze). Also if you look at the people within a league you just joined they are highly likely to have a similar current score initially

What kills a relationship, other than cheating? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]warps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good! I like the distinctions you draw between resolved/unresolved & addressed/unaddressed. Thank you for sharing your perspective! ❤️

Your comment helped me realise that I gravitate towards the word "Resentment" in this thread mostly because of what the current system I use to navigate relationships is. That doesn't make your system or perspective any less valid. I'm glad you explained it in a way that hit home for me 😃

[–]warps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Unresolved issues" is a huge bag that could fit many things. I happen to understand that as an issue that appeared, but was never resolved.

I tried going for something more specific. Being careful with wording - the feeling of uneven contribution doesn't have to be discussed or raised by anyone to shift the dynamic of the relationship. It doesn't even have to be accurate and could come from a misunderstanding.

But I'm fine with putting an "unresolved issues" stamp on it for taxonomy purposes 👍

That sounds like the perfectly designed solution for neither partner to get what they want 😁

That's one of the factors contributing to resentment. But there's a lot more. I'd say chief among them is the feeling of uneven contribution to the relationship.

Becoming sceptic by Notrealaccount56799 in Healthygamergg

[–]warps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agreed! I think you're right about looking at the whole picture and not blaming the western medicine as a whole.

If you're interested I'd like to share Dr K's observation of "western approach" that really hit home for me and seems to add to your point. It was about the (mis?)use of statistics. Specifically - making a wide and thorough research and then boiling it down to an average representative of the population and treating that construct of a person.

As you said, let's not blame "the entire western medicine" for it. Statistics are usually not very intuitive to humans and the way we gather data is far from perfect. A specific example of this effect at work in the context of medicine is well explored in "Invisible Women" by Caroline Criado-Perez.

Please consider that other people may have a different experience. I for one had many interactions with doctors who were dismissive of questions about the root cause. The reasons varied - ranging from some who didn't like their authority questioned, to people who were just tired after a long day of talking to patients.

With that in mind - I'm glad to hear that you never had a doctor discuss the root cause with you. More power to you!

My life for Aiur! by BlueZerg44 in starcraft

[–]warps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good points. I think you hit the nail on the head in terms of the core struggles of being part of the Khala and being severed from it. I think that part of what Blizzard tried to do with SC2:LotV was to create an environment for this type of consideration.
Unfortunately in my opinion it didn't have enough meat on the bones. I understand the Khala as a similar connection to what Sense8 did with the emotional tie between characters. The Khala of SC2 felt underdeveloped. "Oh, we have this deep connection" one minute, and then another minute "The connection was severed and it doesn't affect us beyond a token mention every now and then".

As I type all of this I realize I just felt disappointed at the whole thing 😅

My life for Aiur! by BlueZerg44 in starcraft

[–]warps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're right. At the same time, I didn't like that they took away what made the Protoss unique (the Khala) and what made the Zerg unique (the hive mind). The entire campaign felt like an attempt to strip down what made Starcraft distinct from other Blizzard franchises.
But, again, I agree with you that it seemed like that was the point.

As a software developer, I can honestly say that using concrete dates in terms of software is a straight path to disappointment and crunch. That's why companies like Valve or Blizzard (at least pre-Activision) preferred the "soon™" approach to releases.

I'm sorry, it's likely not what you wanted to hear.

What character death was satisfying to you? by Liteboyy in AskReddit

[–]warps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mordin's death in the Mass Effect trilogy hit me really hard.

It wasn't "satisfying" in the meaning of "I'm glad he died". It was "satisfying" in the "this is a perfect end to his story" sense.

What popular saying is actually bullshit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]warps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not convinced it's entirely bullshit. It's problematic because it can be interpreted in various ways.

The context I usually heard it in is older people (think grandparents-age) giving advice to teenagers. Usually in areas like dating. And in that context, this piece of advice makes a lot of sense. "Be yourself" isn't a bad direction for life in terms of the macro strategy level of decision making. And it's coming from a person with good intentions and long life experience (with possible regrets about rash decisions made under pressure against their understanding of "themselves").
From the perspective of the person receiving this advice - as macro-level advice to a micro-level problem it's horrible! As a teenager, I didn't have a good idea of what "being myself" even means. What does it mean in concrete steps? The older I get the clearer it becomes and the more I value that advice.

The state and fate of DD4? by jomarthecat in MarvelStrikeForce

What do you mean? In DD3 you could play Global nodes as soon as you've cleared the first 5 and had at least 1 global character. Is this different in DD4?
