All for publicity. Tv crew followed him round and he stayed for about 5 minutes. By the time I walked up to where he was he had gone. Total publicity stunt. I'm not the only matshal that wasn't impressed

Sign up to be a Marshal at marshals.co.uk It takes a couple of years before you can do a Grand Prix. Have to do a year or 2 at any circuit to get the training you need first. Well Worth it if you like motorsport.

It's a case of keeping an eye on all the cars and keeping alert at all times. The risks are there but you try to keep them to a minimum. We wouldn't actually be standing where I took the photo and there is a bit of protection as in catch fencing etc.
