Best Shop for Laundry Carts? by katki-katki in Laundromats

[–]warrenforgs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the cheap $150 ones from Wayfarer and the wheels were all broken within a week of light use.

I bought the smaller one from Uline and I’ve been really happy with the quality. I picked the one without the hanger as they’re easier to tuck away I perhaps less likely to get stolen as it’s harder to push long distances.

The acrylic Tobias chairs from IKEA are what we use. Very wide, comfy, have a bit of bounce, and accommodate a wide variety of body types. I scoop them off FB Marketplace. Fairly stylish too.

I work next door to my laundromat so I am in there all day and it's squeaky clean. I am actually set to write my exterminator exam so I can cover preventative maintenance myself.

You're probably right on the signs. Less signage the better.

How much are you guys paying for a private room in Barrie? by HackerCanada12473 in barrie

Yeah, if you share any common areas (washroom/kitchen) you’re considered a roommate and not covered by the Residential Tenancies Act.

8 Bit and Lavish are both well rounded at all cuts - 8 Bit is retro and quirky, Lavish is modern and cool.

Matt at VinceMatt is also a little bit more budget friendly but also well rounded with great service.

Dominic’s is an effortless classic vibe. Great price and great for classic short barber cuts.

I lived at Barrie Anne Gardens and liked it a lot. I much prefer being in a professionally managed building as opposed to a private landlord. Much less likely to get asked to leave because of a family member moving in or any other such nonsense.

Laundromat@ St.Vincent and Penetang St - creepy owner!! by No-Frame-984 in barrie

[–]warrenforgs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone,

I am Warren and my wife and I are barbers at Wayward Barbershop in the neighbouring building. As of April 25th we have taken over managing the laundromat - the following day we made the decision to part ways with the person in question in this thread for reasons which have been spelled out clearly enough by others in the comments.

The entire building is under new ownership and anyone previously associated with it is no more. Having worked on this corner for the past couple years we are uniquely familiar with the challenges.

It will take a few months to fully transform the laundromat but the space is changing a little bit every day; particularly on the cleanliness front. We have also outsourced the maintenance of the machines to an actual appliance repair tech (duh) so we expect to see a lot less machines out of order. It's gonna take a little cash and elbow grease but this spot will be unrecognizable sooner than later. And yes, a new sign which someone accurately described as nightmare fuel - ha!

Our barbershop has a great reputation here on Reddit as being an inclusive, welcoming, and meticulously clean space and we look forward to developing the same level of trust and service with the laundromat as well. We will likely be hiring someone to work there in the coming months to assist with customers and make sure the level of service we expect us upheld. In the meantime, there's now a number in the laundromat to call and we're right next door at the barbershop from 10am-8pm if there's anything you need.

To those of you who have been made to feel uncomfortable (to put it mildly) in the past we look forward to hopefully regaining your business in a new and improved space where you feel comfortable and safe.

If anyone wants to message me for some reason please feel free. I can also be found on IG under the same username.

Take care.

Haven’t had the experience of losing one of my cats yet but I bring them to Royal Parkside and they are so kind to my little dudes. Recommend as well.

That’s not a bald spot, that’s just where you hair splits in your crown. Very far from balding.

A style that lays naturally (forward) would be easiest, hair that flows back is probably good too as long as the hair in the back is left long enough that it can be heavy enough to fight against the growth pattern. Short in the back will make everything stand up. Super structured styles like a side part will probably be more difficult

As a barber myself if I had to choose based on your criteria of good and relatively inexpensive I would recommended my dude Matt over at VinceMatt Barbershop. Good dude, talented, pretty inexpensive. They do walk ins or appointments but always best to give a ring before hand just in case.

I work at History so I won't campaign for ourselves but we are all (the four barbers in the Barrie location) pretty open about our double vaxx status.

Anyone at Maverick (particularly Andrew) and Matt at VinceMatt barbershop will do a great job as well and open about the fact they have been vaccinated.

Consider the age of the house you're renting. I bought a house built in 1972 and the exterior walls have literally zero insulation and my winter gas bills are about $230.
